Then I bummed around for three years - I had 17 jobs in that time, anything from insurance sales to web design.
Then I went back to teaching and quite liked it as long as I wasn't stuck in a classroom all day. I ended up being a sports coordinator. I was teaching for nearly 9 years in total.
Now I'm in training as a police officer and want to get into traffic work and accident investigation after I've been a general duties cop for a few years.

I love to write and read, got a BA and MA in English, which I just finished up last December. And in January I moved out to South Korea where I'm presently employed for fourteen months teaching intensive preschool in English to Korean children

After I got out of the service, truck driving, manual labor at a plant nursery, and finally working in a grocery store bakery have made up the sum of my work life. Oddly enough in the past couple of years, I've wound up writing and recording department ads for the store intercoms. Advertising!
Writing is a good path. You can make a living at it. It can serve as a spiritual practice. There are plenty of twists and turns on the path and you may find yourself taking worthwhile side-trips.
