*points to title* my favorite Neil Young quote, in case anyone was wondering^^

First of all:NEW NAME at last! Goodie :D

And now; guess what I did today? I had my very first visit to the med. lab, that's what. And our teachers thought it would be a great idea to let a bunch of people who had mostly never been in a hospital laboratory before ( Read more... )

You know what broke my heart? Jack watching his grandson die with tears running down his face. I think that was one of the saddest things I've ever seen. That whole scene, with his daughter, knowing he had no choice...it was so damn brutal. It was just...you knew he didn't have a choice, and I kept waiting for the deus ex machina but it never came. Same with Ianto's death. The punchline never came. And I didn't know he was going to die, so I wasn't forewarned. :p

I liked it, it was just relentlessly depressing and I'd had a very bad day and was alone at night in the house I was house sitting, so I ended up eating a lot of comfort chocolate. :p

I agree that jack is internally extremely fucked up. I think Jack knows he is internally very fucked up. I mean, what that man has gone through. Everyone he loves seems to wind up dead. That's got to do some seriously terrible things to your psychological state. It's one of the things I love about his character - he's in some ways the stereotypical hero, but in others he's the antithesis of ( ... )

Oh yeah, that last scene was devestating.I felt so very sorry for everyone involved. And I am glad it's very unlikely that I'll ever have to make a similar decision!
But it also makes me kind of happy when writers don't chicken out of difficult situations like that...I think it happens way too often, especially in American tv. It's like everything absolutely must have a nice, happy ending for people to be able to enjoy it. Or maybe it's just less things to worry about if you write it that way?

I was spoiled for Ianto's death a long time ago, and I just couldn't bring myself to care all that much. I miis Owen more:p

And chocolate will make everything better, that's just the way of things <3

Yep, Jack has to be pretty damaged after the kind of life he has lived. And of course everyone he loves wind up dead sooner or later, because that's just how it is for most of us. I wish more fiction would deal with that aspect of immortality, because I imagine it will lead to so serious mental crisis...

Yay thank you :D Now I just have to ( ... )

Yay indeed! :D I am super relieved that nothing bad happened. Although I think it was mostly dumb luck that made me do it right xD Oh well, hopefully I will learn how to do it properly in time...preferably before they send us out to a real hospital to do this to real people (ie NEXT SPRING)
And icky is exactly the right word. It just feels wrong to hold something warm that came out of someone's body in your hand Oo But yeah, probably bether than finding out my classmate was a zombie xD

And do get back to Torchwood sometime! S3 is so worth the time ;))
