I liked it, it was just relentlessly depressing and I'd had a very bad day and was alone at night in the house I was house sitting, so I ended up eating a lot of comfort chocolate. :p
I agree that jack is internally extremely fucked up. I think Jack knows he is internally very fucked up. I mean, what that man has gone through. Everyone he loves seems to wind up dead. That's got to do some seriously terrible things to your psychological state. It's one of the things I love about his character - he's in some ways the stereotypical hero, but in others he's the antithesis of ( ... )

But it also makes me kind of happy when writers don't chicken out of difficult situations like that...I think it happens way too often, especially in American tv. It's like everything absolutely must have a nice, happy ending for people to be able to enjoy it. Or maybe it's just less things to worry about if you write it that way?
I was spoiled for Ianto's death a long time ago, and I just couldn't bring myself to care all that much. I miis Owen more:p

Yep, Jack has to be pretty damaged after the kind of life he has lived. And of course everyone he loves wind up dead sooner or later, because that's just how it is for most of us. I wish more fiction would deal with that aspect of immortality, because I imagine it will lead to so serious mental crisis...
