BOOKSI've done this the past couple summers, and I'm going to do it again. I'm going to make a brief list of some books that I really want to read, and I'm going to ask you guys for some appropriate modifications of my list. ok, so I'm going to pass along things Alison always gushes about, because you guys have similar taste in books, or so it would appear. and I'll chuck in some of mine, too.
Mark Twain - Letters from the Earth
Anything Thomas Pynchon
and lots of Carribean lit, but I can never figure out if how she's saying it is how it's spelt, so I've never been able to find it. Oh! And The Wide Saragasso Sea it's like, Jane Eyre related, so I think you have to have read JE first.
If you want to read an awesome awesome awesome graphic novel, look up Maus by Art Spiegelman. It's perspective altering, and it's in two parts, the first one is called Maus, Pt. 1: My Father Bleeds History and the second part is And Here My Troubles Began
If you want something a bit more odd, look up Blindness it's by.... Jose Saramago. It won the Nobel Prize for lit, and I read it for a Sci - Fi, Fantasy, and the Western Tradition comp lit class. It was excellent, the teacher discussing focused on stupid things, but I still liked the book ( ... )

Hmm, Caribbean lit sounds interesting. I've definitely never heard of it before...aside from GGMarquez, who sets some stories on fake Caribbean islands. If you figure out the spelling of some of those authors, send it my way. I am interested.
Never read a graphic novel before...unless Archie and Veronica counts..ha.ha. I will check out what you recommend. Yay. :-)
