I'm having a busy week with preparing for Japan and work, so naturally I took the time to get hooked on and read a new manga series, Buso(u) Renkin (by the same guy who did Rurouni Kenshin).

I'm pretty much an omnivore when it comes to female characters - as long as she has agency and a personality, I don't actually care what the personality is. With male characters, I'm much more picky. Basically, I like two types: socially awkward/dorky and complete sweethearts (often also wide-eyed idealists).

...it is scary sometimes how much our interests and preferences coincide. Well, I guess I know what I'll be watching in the next few weeks. :D

What, Busou Renkin? How're you doing on ZZ, by the way?

BR is very much a shonen series (though without (female) fanservice). I haven't quite finished the anime yet, but I have finished the manga. The anime follows it very closely, except they cut one of Tokiko's big fights (GRRR! I wanted to see that animated!), and are padding the final showdown. Still, the key moments are intact, so I don't feel apprehensive about reccing it.

It's not the first shonen series I'd try to push on people, but it's probably the third. (First and second being Soul Eater and Fullmetal Alchemist).

Haven't started yet. I had a lot to catch up on IRL when I came back, and I wanted to finish the bookseries I'd started on in Egypt first.
