Ouch. Dean is nothing withoug a little brother to take care of, that's what defines him and he doesn't know who he is if it's not through Sam's eyes. Sam won't be Sam anymore and Dean will simply cease existing...

Beautiful, sad, inevitable and absolutely lovely. Thanks!

For better or for worse, Dean defines himself by his brother. Heh, I just watched the end of season 2 and remembered how true that is.

Thanks for reading :D

Wow. This is the best kind of fanfic! The kind that is based on what's there but adds to it. Fills in the blanks. Gives us what we wish show gave us but doesn't.

Plus, I love your style! It's not just "Then Sam said, and then Dean said" but it's sentences like this:

See, Dean forgot, sometimes, just how much Sam didn't remember.

or

...stare him straight in the eyes, and say Do I know you? without breathing a word aloud.

This fic hit me like a punch to the chest. Of course, Alistair is there with Dean 24/7, even if nobody mentions it. Now I want to re-watch with this fic in mind!

Man, Dean is so sad and so resigned here. Beautiful fic!

Oh, thank you so much! You quoted from my fic--I love it when people do that :D

I have this obsessions with imagining Dean is always at least a little bit hallucinating ALWAYS. Forty years in Hell is no sneeze. Maybe that's why I loved Yellow Fever so much...
