[With Valentine's over and the memories that had interfered gone, Hermione wasn't particularly in the best of moods when she woke up. Vowing if she ever saw Riddle again--well, we'll get to that. In the end, I believe they would both be resulting in the same. Being offensive in Mayfield tends to end in people being killed or worse. At least with a defensive organization they'll know how to protect themselves if something does happen.

If there's any hope of victory or escape, someone will need to find an offense, a way to disable the weapons of the authorities, whether or not that results in casualties.

Still, I don't deny that if there were defenses possible against them, it would be useful. What defenses exactly were you proposing?

[she doesn't agree. while she knows they'll probably have to fight, she doesn't want to fully believe it. she's not a woman for fighting.] Even so. It's important for the person to know how to defend themselves in such a situations.

In a way, that depends on what people can offer to teach as well. The most important thing is defensive maneuvers everyone can do without the aid of their items from home. Only what they can get in Mayfield. If others have things that can be used and adapted from their homes than that's just as well.

[She makes a somewhat noncommittal noise, but:] True, it's an avenue worth exploring.

[Again the word 'defensive' doesn't quite agree with her, but she passes over that.] Yes, I think we'll find that there are many collateral uses for items and objects from Mayfield that people don't think of because they are closely wedded to their environment from home. Even the most egregiously super-powered person is likely to have some kind of weakness, and quite possibly to something mundane.
