This was my assessment as well. And I shall be there.

[Quiet a moment, before!]

I'm glad to hear it, if you could please spread the word. I'm not certain how many check the phones very often.

In my case, I simply have them directed to my vox-unit.

Sorry, I don't know what that is.

It's pretty obvious, yeah.

Which means the people here are never going to band together.

With that sort of attitude they won't.

Or it's just the way people are. Especially here. Putting aside differences is essentially impossible for them.

Which is exactly why they need to try, even a little. If they wish to go home it's essential to.

Yeah. I wasn't here for Christmas, but I noticed with April Fools, and the more recent....it's trying to keep us fighting each other, among ourselves.

....I'll be there.

Christmas was not nearly so bad as these last two have turned out.

Make sure Ron comes too, would you?

Guess I'll take your word on it, Hermione.

I'll drag him along, sure.

You're all right, Ed?

[Hm. Hermione's quiet a moment after the response, but she'll speak!]

...Miss Nina?

I hadn't doubted that. [A pause.] Something's the matter, isn't it?

[So, Bridge had pretty much been listening to the phone all day. Well, that was kind of his job now. lolbeingafirefighter. But this particular call got way more attention than the last few, if only for one reason.]

Defense Association? You said it's a group, but... what kind of group? Do you guys run around in spandex and fight for justice?

[Because the name TOTALLY DOESN'T GIVE IT AWAY OR ANYTHING. Oh Bridge.]

No, it's nothing quite like that. Primarily we're an organization to teach each other how to defend ourselves in various ways in Mayfield. We can't trust what Mayfield returns to us or even the items it lends here, so we focus on different ways we can manage to defend ourselves and others with what we've got.

...We have been working on making other divisions within to help the town, but it's nothing settled yet.

That actually sounds like what we used to do back home. Well, it had more to do with protecting the world, but it still involved training cadets on how to deal with enemies in strictly non-lethal ways, not to mention keeping them in shape so they can actually do any of that. And I have felt pretty out of place not having my team here. Uhm, where do I sign up? If I'm even allowed to, that is.

Anyone's allowed to join the Defense Association, it's meant to be a group open enough to allow others to learn... There are some rules, and I don't doubt a few will no longer have a place in the D.A. if recent events prove.
