My Life Story (well, not really...)

Oct 18, 2011 20:42

Well, hogan_macgyver posted her coming-of-HH story (ie, how she came to see and enjoy the show), so I decided to do the same.
It all started in early January, 2011. I remember because I keep a diary and although I don’t often note the occasional new show we see, I tried to read between the lines months afterwards once I realized what an experience Hogan’s Heroes ( Read more... )

That is so awesome how you came to love HH! Truly amazing how one little show could expand on so many points of your life. Just makes me grin reading this. Thanks so much for sharing! :D

Well, that makes sense; HH is not suppose to answer any questions about life. I think it just so happened that it came at a time in my life when I didn't grasp those serious issues. Glad that some shows moved you, too! Sometimes my sis thinks TV should crawl up and die, and then we see some nice old black-and-white that teaches something or inspires. TV is a great media to teach, really. Though I better stop blabbing. XD

Yes, that book was great. It's by Melanie Wiggins. Glad I could recommend it to you!

Here's the comment I left on HM's entry, slightly modified:

I blame my mother for it, just like how I can blame her for my love of The Beatles and most of my other and older fandoms. I think I had watched a couple of episodes before last year, but I'm not really sure. She just recorded one one day last year and put it on for me. Then, earlier this year in March, I found a RP board while browsing Google. Thankfully, the same people who ran it were also friends of mine on LJ [ironic how it worked out], and me, HM, and the FFN author known as Glossina have been RPing ever since. I think the biggest impact this show has had on me is getting to meet all of these great people, and then, by getting to know them, being able to discuss other interests of mine as well. :)
Also, I always love when Hogan was dressed sharply in his military uniform, so GREAT picture you have there! If possible, would you be able to make an icon out of it?

Wow, interesting story. Thanks for sharing it! It's amazing how we get to the same place through so many different means. I'm glad you found so many interesting people through this!

Yes, I love a man in uniform! His US dress uniform is sharp, as his Gestapo outfit. Of course I'll icon this cap for you. Actually, it came off an interesting YouTube HH music video (golly, it was my cap!). Forgot what the title was unfortunately...

Yes, I really do love the HH fandom. Everybody is so open here, and it's great to read all of the different fanfiction stories from FFN, and see all of the great pictures/macros that people make here on LJ.

Well, if you ever do run across that YouTube video, please send it my way! Just checked my Deviantart collection again, and you were the one who came up with that awesome picture of Hogan in his Gestapo uniform. Still love that picture.

That's true. I've had a blast in the fandom, too!

Hm, I just checked my video files, and I can't believe I can't find it! *rr* I came from the "General Swap" episode, though. I'll post its icon once I've created a few more to be worthy of a new batch.
And thanks! Glad you enjoyed that pic. That one's from "Carter Turns Traitor."
