Had there been a blanket "in this class we may/will review each other's work" or "I will distribute papers for peer critique throught the class" statement?

...if not, I'd say that at the very least you should have been given the curtosy of having been told in advance.
(personally, I'd expect some sort of "If you don't mind" sort of permission-asking if there had been no previous mention of the possibility).

If it is any consolation, I hear a wee rumor that Stovokor will be playing campus this semester...

And if the professor lacked the curtesy to ask, I suppose it would be too much to ask to leave your name off the paper.

The professor left my name off the paper, but I wrote about playing the harp and there are only six people in the class so it was pretty obviously my paper.

...oh, yes, and no blanket statement. This was completely out of the blue. Gr. Patak .
