oh my fucking goodness, but these are the most aggravating folks on the face of the planet. i post in a lj community called "blackfolk" and this guy who goes by the name of "oreo" something or other decides to post a link to a website where the folks are making fun of these kids who dressed for the prom. here's the link to the thread

ain't that the truth, although i think by and large those are good folks there. however, i found there really is no room there for a person who has no desire other than to be sincere and friendly. it's cool, though. there's a place for everything and issues is the place for dissing folks for no good reason.

I laugh at my own high school pix. I'll damned-sure laugh at the ones in that link. Dunno if that makes me insecure by your standards. I don't think it's SUCH a bad thing.

I have some pictures somewhere

of a black prom where a pregnant girl had a prom dress made where her naked distended belly was exposed to the world's eyes. It was kind of shocking. The blue dress was elegant enough, but the center part of the prom dress was cut out to focus on her eighth month of pregnancy. I thought it odd, but I also just put it down to me not being culturally aware these days with what kids like. I remember suits and tuxedos and evening gowns. But again, that was a different era. Anyway, sorry Nikki, but some of those pix ARE funny, and after reading some of your arguments, I want to fuck you more than ever.

i'm not saying the pics aren't funny. my only point to that guy was that he had no right to make claims about their lifestyles based only on their attire to a prom.
