i crochetted my first ponchos for gifts this past christmas after knitting a shitload of scarves for everyone the previous years. i even knitted a few caps! i wish i had taken photos, but that'd be too much like right

yeah, knitting is NOT cost effective if you're using anything but acryllics (and i don't like using them. so now I only try to make things I KNOW i couldn't buy...unique stuff. then at least i feel like i'm getting soemthing otu of it and not wasting money

i can't find unique ponchos that don't cost a crapload, so i think those are gonna be my knitting project for the year. i'm creating a notebook of the best patterns. i wish there were some places where i could get some inexpensive yarn, though. that acrylic stuff only looks good for a hot minute.

So far I've got the chain thing going. I'm supposed to hit another class at Michaels to learn more. I can't wait.

i read about that! i'm telling you, it's addictive. once you finish your first project, you're gonna wanna keep knitting stuff for everybody. hell, i'm to the point where i wouldn't mind knitting dex some boxers, but i think they'd be a bit scratchy for him.
