Like you said, it isn't meaningless those experiences. Experience and risk is a thing that must help shape our personality because without the experience, we can never learn from it. Sure you can be an observer, and learn from the mistakes of others, but it isn't quite the same. I myself, have been more of the observer, but I regret that at times. Yes I've been able to learn what others could not who actually had the experience, but to be able to go through the actual situation, you might find yourself making the same mistakes someone else already made. I know this is kind of vague, but just trying to put a little something into this reply.

Just a short comment here. I heard a good theory somewhere that is relative to this discussion. "Every broken relationship just makes you better for the next person." I believe this is true, I see it in myself. As upset as I was at past relationships ending, I love the way things are now. I have changed indescribably as a result of past changes and experiences. What was once has ceased to be and now we are free to live as more experienced and knowledgable beings.
