being insecure

I'm really afraid of scaring away the new boy by being my normal, grumpy self. Of course, said new boy has only been around for all of two weeks, so I should be nowhere near showing him that yet, should I? How comfortable should you be around each other at what stage? Is there an acceptable timetable for such things ( Read more... )

Shouldn't you be your normal self from the beginning? Or is that why everyone is always breaking up all the time?

It seems like in the beginning, when first meeting people, we're all on our best behavior- then, as you get more comfortable, the gloves come off. We've all got flaws that maybe we don't show to everyone-until we're close.

One of my flaws is a tendency to be moody, which I try not to subject new people to too early =op

Yeah, I guess that's true, and I think most people are that way. I don't tend to bother with it myself -- it just seems kind of pointless to me to put on an act that you have no intention of keeping up.
