IF YOU HAD TO CHOOSE A DOG FROM EACH CKC/AKC “GROUP,” WHAT WOULD YOU CHOOSE AND WHY?
(excluding your own breeds)

Group 1- Sporting
Group 2- Hound
Group 3- Working
Group 4- Terriers
Group 5- Toys
Group 6- Non Sporting
Group 7 - Herding

Group 1: Sporting - Damn that's a tough one. Audrey has really made me like the sporting group more than ever. As for looks I would go with a Welsh Springer OR one of the Wirehaired Pointers, but I'm going to have to go with the Flat-Coated Retriever. Or a Viszla.

Group 2: Hound - I've always loved the Scottish Deerhound mainly for his silly prance and the PBGV because they look and act like Spencer. But I think Rhodesian Ridgebacks are such incredibly beautiful dogs. And aside from the dopey one at the Corpus Christi show a couple years back, they have all been rather intelligent and thoughtful workers. And I will have a dachshund as part of my pack for the rest of my life, no question.

Group 3 - Working - There are several dogs I want in this group. A Great Dane for conformation, Standard/Giant Schnauzer, but hands down I will say Doberman. I adore the breed and I have always wanted one. They come into rescue all the time, so I won't have a hard time finding one whenever I am ready.

Group 4 - Terriers - American Staffordshire Terrier of course. And maybe a soft-coated Wheaten. There is a rescue (Terrier Mix they call it, but clearly its a Wheaten) in one of my Intermediate classes and he is just so Heads Up+Prancy when he heels that I get all giddy.

Group 5 - Toys - Again, another group with tons of dogs I want. Chihuahua, Chinese Crested, Maltese, Papillon, Toy Poodle, Silky... but above all, I want a Yorkie. My next small dog will be a Yorkie. And we will do obedience. And we will excel at it.

Group 6 - Non-Sporting - This should come as no surprise to anyone: STANDARD POODLE. I also wouldn't mind a Bichon, Bulldog, another Lhasa, or a Tibetan Terrier.

Group 7 - Herding - Obviously I enjoy watching Border Collies, GSDs, and Australian Shepherds excel at life. But as far as who I would actually own, I think a Malinois is closer to what I would like to own/work. Or a blue merle Beauceron.

Well now, doing all that is going to make me late for Audrey's conformation practice!
