2nd Prime // [Action/Video]

[The old Autobot certainly had been busy as of late. Only a couple weeks into this city and he's had quite a bit of action.  And to be honest, it was taking a toll on his Energon levels. Thankfully, the warehouse had a supply (although he won't ask how) and used it to restore some of his strength. While the Energon certainly did help, only time ( Read more... )

For collection's sake.

[ Not entirely true. She knew the man had a god complex, but being abused for it wouldn't make it go away. It too needed tact to work with. ]

He sees something that interests him and goes after it in the most efficient way possible. Asking for the opportunity to do research and bartering for peoples' time is exhausting work. Simply taking it is a quicker means.

While it may be considered a good idea in theory, it restricts the freedoms of others, no matter the importance.

He'll do what he can to get what he wants. I know you know someone else with that same mindset.

You are referring to Starscream, are you not?

Hmmm...I must agree. The two are very similar.

[Which is what worries him. A human Starscream.]

I am currently working with both of them, doing what I can to show that it is possible to conduct research without harming the subject. [ She sighs and wipes her forehead. ] I need to work a little harder.

[Oh hey Caroline thanks for not listening to him and staying away from Starscream. Someone's a bit upset, and the edge in his voice proves it.]

Starscream will never stray from his master's path. I suggest you stray from his.

I don't think that breaking his things and tying him up are going to make him want to treat others with respect. I didn't mention it the first time, but he saved my life.

[The eyebrow raise of ultimate suspicion.]

Either you had something he wanted, or he was under orders.

Starscream has not shown compassion for anyone in centuries, and if he has, it has never been for a human. I am merely looking out for your safety, Miss Caroline.

[ centuries, really? ]

Your war didn't exist here before you arrived and his master isn't here. How would you know how he'd behave when out of those conditions? I'm working with him to intercede on the behalf of the inhabitants of the city. I'm currently researching 6 and his friends with the condition that Starscream leave them be, and he has upheld that promise.

I would know of Starscream's actions out of those conditions because I have known him during such times. I was not born into this war, but rather watched my brothers fall victim to the Decepticon uprising. Starscream was an air commander before those times, and he had always wished for more power. He was not twisted into his role of the Decepticon second-in-command, but he accepted it willingly. I do not wish to start an argument with you, Miss Caroline, but for one who has known Starscream for such a miniscule amount of time, you speak as if you've known him for years.

[The old Autobot puts his hand to his ear, adjusting his facepiece in attempts to keep his stoic nature intact.]

However, freedom is your right. If you make the decision to continue aiding Starscream, I cannot interfere.

But I ask you this--

What if I leave you be...and you're wrong.

[ Alright, assuming was a bad choice. ]

It feels as though there's a miscommunication somewhere in here. It's true that I work with Starscream, but I do so for the safety of others. I know he may betray or harm me, but if it means the safety of others, then I can accept that.

[Optimus's eyes soften at her words damn you humans and his love for you.]

Miss Caroline, your actions seem benevolent. I have no doubt that you are trying to place the city's wellbeing at your first priority. However...

While you are watching over them, who is watching over you?

Death means nothing here, Optimus, you don't have to worry. I'll be fine.

That does not mean the value of your life is any less.

You know, I only know about your world from what he's told me. I would love to know more about the place that spawned such a caring autobot.

I am afraid our history is vast and spans millions of years. Is there any particular thing that strikes your interest?
