well, this is just me stating what worked for me...since i was sh*t scared of the pain the first time round as well - go get your arm done. It is relatively painless where as the other areas you have specified are all located in either extremely fleshy parts or bony as hell (and they both hurt a bit more).

i did go back, many times. I think the initial fear is greater than the actual pain once you get use to it. I'm finishing the half sleeve's inside at the moment which is not proving too painful. I also had my breastplate done...

Take into account your age and the need to hide any tattoo you get in the future, until you're in a stable career-oriented position that allows you to have visible tattoos.

Make sure that it's a design that you're going to be cool with having for the rest of your life. If you think for even a MINUTE that you might regret it in the future? Don't get it. Choose something else. If you think you might regret that one? Move on to the next one. Hell, I have designs I've been mulling over for nearly a decade and I'm STILL not sure if I want them or not.

From my personal experiences (having received tattoos in almost all of those anatomical areas) and from the MANY MANY MANY experiences I've heard, read, and seen in person... I'll say that your shoulder blade is probably going to be the least painful (that's the location of my first tattoo and it didn't hurt AT ALL), if you are going to allow that to be a factor (which you shouldn't, as it is subjective and different for everyone, but I'm just going based on what I and others have ( ... )
