You know, it's true. It's been a long time since I had to walk on a motionless escalator, but I still vividly remember the unnatural wrongness of it. Weird.

It's not a "fear" per se, so it would't be a phobia.

Perhaps, "escalator dyskinesia anxiety?"

I'm sure there's a federal grant in there for the study of it ... and more money to be made from the bestseller on how to conquer it.

In that same category is the weird feeling you get when sitting in a chair that's already warm from someone else having sat in it previously. These things definitely need a name.
