Title: Don't Hesitate

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

Rating: Anyone ?

Description: Sophie's a vampire hunter and Sian's a vampire. They fall in love but Sophie hates what Sian is because her parents were killed by a vampire... Original, eh ? :)

I just couldn't help myself :) I have to step away from my laptop now..

Sian hovered over an unconscious Sophie, tears in her eyes, grasping onto the tiny ounce of restraint left in her. The smell of Sophie's blood was impossible for her to take. It pulled her lips closer and closer to the limp body lying on the ground. Her lips twitched, the razor sharp fangs in her mouth begging to be let loose on the throbbing gash on the brunettes arm. Sian could hear Sophie's pulse ringing in her ears. She could already taste the blood on her tongue. She wanted so badly to to have it in her mouth. Wanted so badly to drink Sophie down. The only side to her now should have been the vampire side. The eyes she seen through now should see Sophie as no more than a victim, a feed. She shouldn't be thinking about this. Sophie should be dead already.

Sian growled deep in her throat, a desperate growl. The blondes eyes slipped closed and her features hardened as she faced up into the night towards the stars. This wasn't right. In her head, in her heart, in the pit of her stomach she knew. This was Sophie. Her Sophie. The same girl she had rescued from a vicious vampire attack just over a year ago. This was the Sophie that made Sian turn against her own kind to protect, something she swore to herself she would never do...

But her mouth was watering. More blood oozed from the wound as the seconds ticked by. Sian's throat ached more and more. She needed to taste her. Wanted to taste her.

Sian's thirsty eyes crawled over Sophie's motionless face. Her face was soft but she didn't look asleep. She looked unconscious...like she had just been knocked out. Sian did that to her. She had forced her to the ground...knocked her out. And now she hovered over her...desperately trying to resist the sweet smell of her blood.

'Sophie was trying to help me.' Sian's weaker...or stronger side pushed through reminding her. She was taken aback by the thought that entered her mind suddenly. She'd never experienced any thoughts while feeding before... She didn't think any vampire was capable of processing thoughts of anything other than the blood when they fed.

'She was doing this for me...and I'm about to kill her.' The voice whispered again in her head. Sian frowned feeling her fangs scrap her bottom lip. A soft groan escaped Sophie's lips.
'Look at her.' The voice ordered and Sian's eyes went to Sophie's face. 'Would you really take her life for something you can get from any old person?'

Right then, in that second, Sian's mind replayed back to her ever moment she had spent with Sophie. The saving her, the fight that followed when she tried to kill Sian, the explanation, the arguments, the first kiss, the laughs, the declarations, the rejection, the realization, the passion, the want, the need, the lust...the love.

A single tear fell from Sian's eye, the first tear she had let fall in since she was 15 when her mother and father were killed.

'The same happened to her mother and father.' The voice whispered. Another tear fell.
Sian let out a strangled cry ignoring the begging of her throat, lips, tongue, stomach and veins for Sophie's blood. She crashed her head to the floor beside Sophie who was beginning to come around letting more tears fall.

Every part of her body was screaming for her to be who she was, a vampire, a killer. But Sophie twitched next to her, making her see sense. Sian remained on the ground for a few seconds thinking of everything but Sophie's blood. Shame and guilt washed over her when she realized exactly what has just happened. Her eyes lightened and after a few seconds more her fangs tugged back up into her gums, awaiting the next time they were called for. Had she really just almost killed Sophie? Sian's face crinkled. She had. She'd been so close to stealing her life away. And for what? A few seconds of selfish pleasure that would be gone as quickly as they came?

A soft groan from Sophie had Sian up on her knees kneeling beside her, shame still coursing through her. The blonde bowed her head, ignoring the ache in the back of her throat. Sophie's eyes snapped open and she bolted upright gasping for air. Her eyes darted to Sian.

"I'm so sorry." Sian croaked and her throat had never been drier. She quickly ripped the sleeve from her shirt and grimacing she wrapped it around Sophie's wound unable to control herself...but somehow she was managing. Sian's eyes never once made contact with Sophie's. She was afraid she would crumble to the ground, unable to take the guilt if Sophie looked at her. Sophie sat silently, gasping in air not sure if what was happening actually was.

Sian rose her head still bowed.

"Can you get home?" Her teary voice croaked.

"Yes." Sophie answered almost immediately.

Sian nodded once, looked at Sophie still avoiding her eyes, making sure she actually could get home, and then she was gone. She raced away from Sophie, whizzing through the streets, to anywhere that wasn't near the brunette. She'd never ran so fast in her entire life. She raced past a few people, moving so quickly they didn't even turn their heads to look.
After a long time, she finally came to a stop, collapsing against a crumbling wall and sliding her back down it until she reached the floor. The smell of Sophie's blood still lingered in her nose, burning her lungs and only sufficing in making her feel even guiltier.
Sian then did something no one would believe if they didn't witness it and no one was around. She cried. Her head fell onto her knees and her broken sobs came endlessly as her arms wrapped around her head. She hadn't killed Sophie, hadn't fed on her but she had a feeling that she couldn't possible feel any worse if she actually had.

"Are you alright there, girlie?" A rough male voice called and Sian's head darted up.

A tall burly man was approaching her slowly, cautiously. Sian felt the prick of her fangs and the burn in her throat as he got nearer. The smell of alcohol hit her and she knew if she wanted to she'd kill him without much of a fight.

"Are you okay?" The guy asked again his voice concerned. "Has something happened? Do...do you want me to call for some help?" He offered genuinely getting closer to her.

"Go away." Sian warned in a growl. She wished she could control herself but she knew she wouldn't be able to if he got any closer.

"I'm not gonna hurt you, lass." He frowned looking scared that she seemed so upset.
Sian knew she couldn't promise him the same thing.

"Don't come near me." She growled, using the back of her hand to clear away her tears.
"You're all shaken up, lass. I'm just offering you a hand." And with the last word he said he stepped just that inch too close.

Sian lurched at him, getting to her feet and closing the few meters between them before the man could blink. She was on him, shoving him backwards against the same wall she had broken down against. She didn't want this. She wished so much that she could pull her lips away from him throat. She wished that she could run again. Sophie's blood had smelled a million times better and more appealing than his but she just couldn't resist his. The last thought before her fangs pierced the flesh of his neck, was a wonder at how she ever was able to stop herself from lapping up the blood the poured from Sophie's open wound. She didn't know how she did it. All she knew was that she was so glad she had.

Her fangs sunk into his skin and he let out a terrified scream. Sian gulped down the blood and didn't stop until she could get no more. With wide eyes, she let his body slump to the ground. Fear burst into her heart and it was a fear she would never escape because she just couldn't run away from herself. This was who she was, a monster.

Sian glanced down at the lifeless body at her feet, at a man who had offered her help. A man who's life she had taken for it. She looked away, her feet carrying her further and further from him. She felt sick. Sian knew where she was going. And she hoped to God that Sophie would follow through on her promise and drive a stake through her dark heart.
