Description: Sophie's a vampire hunter and Sian's a vampire. They fall in love but Sophie hates what Sian is because her parents were killed by a vampire... Original, eh ? :)
Sian wasn't being brave when she turned up at Sophie's door 3 whole days after she's decided to go. It wasn't a long journey, a few miles, but Sian stopped and though every other minute about what she'd say, how it would play out, how it would end. She was being scared, a coward. She was taking the easy way out when she knocked on her girlfriends door. Sian knew Sophie would kill her and that would be it. As simple as that. She deserved to die for what she had done and she knew it but that wasn't the sole reason for wanting her life to end. Sophie wouldn't want her anymore, not after realizing that Sian couldn't and never would change. The brunette would kill her and Sian was just glad that her beautiful face would be the last thing she saw. If Sophie didn't want her, there would be no point in suffering this life, no point in killing people to live. Sian wouldn't want to live. Not without Sophie. And she knew, as the door edged open, that she was about to have a stake driven through her heart twice tonight.
Sian's dead heart crumpled when she saw Sophie standing, so fragile behind the door. Not because she knew what was to come but because in Sophie's eyes, something flashed, almost lifting her lips into a smile when she saw the blonde. It killed Sian. The vampire thought it was tragic. They wanted each other, loved each other, needed each other so much but it just could never be. Sian wanted Sophie to kill her and because of what Sian was, a part of Sophie, even though it was a tiny part, wanted to kill Sian. No. Not kill her...just kill what Sian was. Sophie wished so much that Sian wasn't a murderer. The younger girl didn't even care what Sian was, but she hated what she had to do to live - steal away life.
"Sian." The brunette whispered through a dry mouth. Naturally, Sophie had thought the worst when she had not seen Sian for 3 days. Everyday they were together and Sophie hated being apart from Sian. She hid the fact that she was glad to see her. Sophie was still angry. Still upset. Sian could see it on her face.
"Soph..." The name came out slowly, almost sticky in the blondes mouth. Sian didn't want a fight but she doubted this would happen without one. "Can...can I come in?" And she was on the verge of tears again. She couldn't quite believe that this would be their last conversation, the last time her eyes rested on Sophie's beautiful eyes or soft lips, the last time she heard her girlfriends heartbeat... Crying was still new to her, despite having done almost nothing but for 3 days solid. She held back her tears.
Sophie nodded her head once then disappeared leaving Sian to follow her. Sian remained still, staring at the ground, wishing that Sophie didn't have to deal with what was going on. She caught the tear the second it slipped from her eye, took a deep shaky breath and stepped in after Sophie.
"Alright babes?" Rosie beamed from the sofa when Sian walked through. Sophie didn't stop, just continued straight to her bedroom.
"Hiya, Rosie." Sian faked a smile that would have been obvious to anyone but her girlfriends sister.
"D'you like the colour?" Rosie asked holding her hand out for Sian for her to see. The vampire replied yes without even considering. She barely looked.
"What's up with her, eh?" Rosie sighed returning her focus to her nails, talking about Sophie.
Sian didn't speak. If Rosie knew what was up with Sophie, she'd be dead already. Rosie wouldn't even think about it; if she knew Sian was a vampire, she'd use the nail file in her hand to end her life. Rosie hated vampire's more than Sophie. But Sophie was braver. Sian thanked God everyday for that bravery. If it hadn't have been for Sophie's hate of what Sian was, and her going out night after night to hunt down and kill vampires, they never would have met. And so she cursed God everyday for giving Sophie that bravery. She knew that's what ruined the brunettes life.
"Sian." Sophie shouted to the blonde from her bedroom. Sian went quickly to her ignoring Rosie's huffs.
They stood in silence for a long time just looking at each other. Sophie finally spoke.
"You didn't hurt me, Sian." Sophie insisted moving towards Sian whose hands went up in front of her signaling for Sophie not to come closer.
"Yes I did." Sian frowned angry with only herself. "I didn't drink....I didn't...." She sighed, the words she wanted to say flying through her head dangerously quickly making it impossible for her to catch any of them to verbalize them. "You...your arm...that wasn't you, Soph. That was me."
Sophie understood what she meant although she disagreed with it. She knew the older girl meant that she had caused Sophie to harm herself even if it was her that actually created the wound.
"No." She argued. "Sian I...."
"You don't understand." Sian cut her off. Sophie moved towards her again, ignoring the fact that she moved away from her.
"Why are you doing this, Sian?" Sophie demanded hating that Sian felt like she couldn't be near her. "Don't do this. You didn't kill me, you didn't hurt me. Sian, you did it." Sophie laughed. "I don't even know how...but you did! You stopped yourself from...."
"Stop it!" Sian croaked unable to take hearing Sophie praise her anymore. She may have been able to resist Sophie's blood but what kind of accomplishment was that - Well done, you didn't kill your girlfriend! "I kill someone else." And the words tumbled from her lips before she could bite them back. She was going to tell Sophie but she wasn't ready to in that moment. Now it was too late.
"What?" Sophie asked the small smile on her lips fading suddenly. She moved closer to Sian, this time not to be near her but to be able to hear what she was going to say. Sophie's heartbeat increased and her breathing became more and more uneven as the seconds passed. "What?" She asked again, sounding angrier when she got no answer.
"When I left you I killed someone. I couldn't...I could still smell your blood. My throat was so...It was agony." Sian stopped, shaking her head not believing the words she was speaking. She didn't know agony. Not like that guy did, not like anyone she killed did. She knew it wasn't a simple bite. After her fangs pierced his skin, venom shot through his entire body, drawing the blood to her fangs. It would have been crippling pain. She didn't know agony. She was ashamed at her words. Sophie clearly felt the same. A sickened look creased her somehow still beautiful features.
And if Sian didn't already know it, in that single second she would have known she deserved no life.
"I'm so sorry, Soph." Sian whispered her stomach turning.
"Did you say that to him? Was it a him? Did you go and kill a girl?" Sophie asked frowning, her eyes glistening with tears she refused to let fall.
"It was a him....I told him...." Sian stopped shaking her head, her eyes burning with the way Sophie stared into them. Searching for something. Sian didn't know what.
"No..." Sophie swallowed. "Tell me...tell me what happened." The brunette demanded not really wanting to know the details but at the same time wanting Sian to relive it. Just to see if she was really sorry as she said she was.
"I don't want to." Sian bit her lip, begging Sophie with her eyes not to make her.
"TELL ME!" Sophie screamed and Sian jumped. The shout ripped through Sian's body, settling in her head, where it echoed over and over. Sian knew Rosie had heard her sisters cry because footsteps approached the door quickly but hesitantly.
"Sophie?" Rosie called through the door.
"It's fine!" Sophie shouted back irritated after a second.
"I'm coming in." Rosie announced worriedly and Sophie turned quickly but not quick enough to block the door. Sian saw the movement and knowing that Sophie wasn't fast enough she shot for the door holding it shut without really thinking.
"Sophie!" Rosie screeched twisting the handle repeatedly but getting nowhere. "Sophie, let me in. What's going on?!" The older Webster demanded.
"Nothing, Rosie! Go away." Sophie shouted, eyes fixed on Sian.
"Not until you let me in!" Rosie huffed trying to budge the door.
"It's nothing to do with you, Rosie! It's between us! Don't get involved." Sophie shouted, a part of her wishing, as it always did that she could be honest with Rosie.
There was silence for a few moments as Rosie considered the situation. They were a couple. Couple's argue. It didn't really had anything to do with her. But..something was going on. She hadn't heard a peep from Sian.
"Sian?" Rosie called straining her ears.
Sian looked to Sophie, wanting to know whether or not the brunette wanted her to speak. Sophie shrugged angrily.
"Yes?" She asked sounding as calm as possible, her voice didn't sound teary but still sounded shaky. She wouldn't be rude to Rosie. Rosie was a really good person, despite everything. She was there for Sophie and she knew she always would be.
"Are you okay?" Rosie asked uncertainly.
"I'm okay." Sian lied but Rosie believed it or at least accepted it and accepted that she had no part in whatever was going on inside the room. She left reluctantly telling her sister and girlfriend they would get through whatever they were going through.
Sophie scoffed, shaking her head and Sian's heart sank.
"Tell me." Sophie hissed and Sian let her head drop.
"I was crying...and he...came to me asking me if I was okay." Sian began noticing the slight change in Sophie's expression when she told her she had been crying. Sophie had never seen her girlfriend cry before. No one had. "Erm....I told him, I said don't come near me." The events replayed in her mind, making her shudder. Guilt washed over her again as she spoke. "He just...he got too close...I attacked him.." Sian paused frowning. "I killed him." She muttered as if only just realizing what she had done. "I killed him." She looked up at Sophie who stood mouth hanging open slightly. "I killed him." She whispered again. A tear fell down her cheek catching Sophie by surprise.
Sophie's first reaction was to comfort her girlfriend. Hold the woman she loved as she began weeping. But she couldn't bring herself to.
"Get out." The brunette whispered, still considering her words even as she spoke.
Sian looked up, searching Sophie's face.
"Please." Sophie asked bringing the back of her hand up to her mouth. "Please, go."
"Sophie." Sian whimpered, not understanding what exactly was going to happen.
"I know I said I'd kill you...but...I wont let you off that easy." Sophie told her shaking her head. The younger girl fell back into a sitting position on her bed. "I don't want to see you again. Get out."
"Sophie." Sian choked out.
"Don't make this hard." Sophie begged tears streaming down her cheeks.
"Please don't..." Sian pleaded. "Why are you...." Sian couldn't manage to get out her last words.
"Because I love you. I don't want to love you anymore. Don't stay and make me love you." Sophie admitted through her tears taking Sian by surprise. Despite the situation they were in and Sian's breaking heart, she felt a rush of warmth at Sophie's words.
"But..." Sian sniffed.
"Please. I can't...." And then Sophie's body was shaking with sobs.
Sian moved to her girlfriend and stopped realizing she was no longer that. This was over. Sophie loved her but she didn't want her anymore. Who was Sian to stay and break her heart? She wanted desperately to feel Sophie's lips on her own a final time...but she didn't deserve to.
"I love you." Sian wiped her cheek dry, cocking her head to the side waiting for a response she wouldn't get.
After a few more seconds and after taking in the sight of Sophie for what she knew was the last time she turned and went. Her heart breaking more with each step. Rosie called after her as she exited but Sian just felt numb. Ashamed. Guilty. She couldn't look at her.
Rosie rushed into her little sisters room where she found her sobbing on the bed.
"Sophie." She gasped rushing over to her. She took the younger girl in her arms and held her letting Sophie cry on her shoulder. Rosie knew without having to ask that they had broken up. She didn't now the reasons. Rosie knew what Sian had meant to Sophie and so she would sit there all night and hold her sister if she had to. Sophie cried for hours.
