[Action/Video] Haunted Dancehall

[ A lone man stands in the pier, before he starts running again. He's quick to take out his crowbar and scan the area for any enemies. If Ravenholm and Nova Prospekt have taught him, trust no one and keep moving. The device is rather cumbersome to hold while sprinting so he rummages any trash he can to find a discarded handbag, anything to stuff it ( Read more... )

[As Gordon makes his broadcast, Blurr seems to be running past, probably even invisible if you happened to blink during the moment he zipped past. But he was within range to hear the word "Aperture". That was a term he'd heard before, from those humans...

His wheels skid to a stop before reversing, moving backwards until he reaches the start of the pier. Oh, it was a human too. Might as well get some information!]

Excuse me!

[How comfortable are you with giant talking robots, Gordon?]

[SHOULD BE THANKS TO D0G BUT BLURR MAKES HIS BRAIN GO...pbbt. He goes through his old standby defense mechanism, and simply raises a stunned hand to say hi.]

[Good. He's going to assume you're up-to-date on transforming robots. Because...

WELL, ISN'T EVERYONE?!]

Excuse me sir I do not wish to waste your time but I was wondering if you could explain further your connection with the word "Aperture" and it's employees seeing as I myself have made contact with such individuals and quite frankly I did not see our conversation as particularly pleasant. You see they seem to be all about furthering science which may be a nice goal in theory but when it involves lives it starts to lose the same essence that it had on furthering the capabilities of the human race now I'm not naming any names here but those few employees that I did make contact with proclaimed such ideals and thus I would like you to try and talk some sense into them should you encounter them at any given moment. HOWEVER if this "Black Mesa" of yours is anything similar to the sort of company that Aperture is then I shouldn't really be having this conversation now should I?

[Hello to you too, Blurr. Sorry, Gordon, he has the ( ... )

[No worries...Gordon's almost as bad when he meets people. He does try and catch up and he finally answers]

Three things:
1) Black Mesa used to be like Aperture only we were just criminally incompetent. The only things that got hurt were the aliens.

2) There are Aperture employees still alive?

3) HOLY SH!T, YOU'RE A TALKING, SENTIENT ROBOT.

[Trevor has his hands in too many pockets already.]

[The device beeps awake but excuse Freeman...he's cautious to answer to any strangers that may or may not creep him out]

Theoretically speaking and in passing. [Lies.]

[ Oh! Here's a happy test subject for you. ]

Bl---Black May--sah?

[ Speech impediments, surely you'll understand, because---Black Mesa?

That meant this guy was from the same timeline, universe, what have you. Right? Right?

She didn't know why, but, it made Chell unbelievably happy to hear this. So off she goes! Already, from her mapping of the City, she can pinpoint exactly where he's at from his surroundings, and boy, if those long falls didn't come in handy before. Running without them made her ten times slower, and she wished she brought them with her. ]

[Like a gentleman, he stops and waits for her. Aperture was notorious to use people that couldn't speak out against their practices. And this woman was a literal example of it. Gordon's relatively from that time, before the long sleep]

Yes, Black Mesa, ma'am.

[ Ah, there she is! Finally rounding the corner, a big ol' smile on her face. ]

Aperture---

[ Oh wait, hang on, let her catch her breath. She motions to herself. ]

Aperture, Aperture testing. Uh, Testing subject. Not employee, but---subject.

[She speaks and it lifted Freeman's mood.]

Black Mesa employee...Dr. Freeman. [he holds out his hand but notices he's still in his HEV suit. He immediately takes the glove off and offers it. It's full of scars]

Never heard of Black Mesa or Aperture Science. But hello there Dr. Freeman. So what's got you all paranoid?

And this is when I realize how sad it is I am used to this kind of thing.

I'm Ratchet, by the way. And this place seems friendly enough.

[Cave narrows his eyes at the man, bringing his face closer to the screen before speaking.]

An apology? That's the best a Black Mesa lackey could do? Well, as C.E.O. of Aperture Science, allow me to make the official statement that you can take your apology and cram it down your cram-hole. When I get out of this place, Aperture's going to destroy Mesa, or my name isn't Cave Johnson.

Two things. One, it's called an asshole and even you have it. In stride. [He does not like being called a lackey]

Two, Black Mesa is dead. Buried. Just like Aperture. At least we had the decency to go out with a thermonuclear bang.
