I can't really express how sorry I am this took so long. Seriously. But it's done, and it's for tobyzantium.

Speakeasy Fic: 1925, New York and Oklahoma
AAR boys (Nick/Ty and Mike/Chris)
7600 words.
Nick goes to New York and finds half of himself. The other half is back in Sweetwater.

( Nick stood with his trunk and his shoulder bag and scanned the crowd for a glimpse of his father. He wasn’t expecting it when he was attacked from the left, long arms wrapping around his waist and lifting him clear off his feet.

“Damn, its good to see you,” Tyson said into his shoulder, face covered by his perpetual dark canopy of hair. )

Awww. Even though I already knew how this would end (yaaaaaaay Speakeasy!) I was all nervious for Nick! This is just wonderful and you are right that haylofts are probably not as comfortable as one would expect. Hay is very pointy.

Pointy and itchy! Not fun. They stick to Nick's room mostly, since he's got the run of the house when his dad isn't there.

The ending is pretty predictable, but yeah. I got butterflies too. They are so OTP, man.

Um. Guh. And yay. It's fluffy and porny at once, which can never be bad. :D This whole AU just makes me happy, it's like Newsies and floppyhaired skinny boys and a whole lot of GAY.

LOL, there will always be more Speakeasy, I'm certain. But I'm thinking there will be more Nick/Ty in other AUs first. We haven't done a MI:AU update in a while...

Oh my GOD. Last time I was crying because there wasn't more and now I'm crying because that is the most beautiful and perfect prologue to a gorgeous epic like Speakeasy that I can imagine. I love how tender and tentative and humor-filled and just LOVELY the tone is, light where it needs to be, oh man. It was well worth the wait, my dear.

Living with Sky is making my tone much lighter, I think. She's not as fond of the ones where the boys get beaten up and shot and stuff.

Also, your icon is the color version of the pinup that is in the bedrooms of a million tennage girls (and boys) in 1933. God, he's good in any decade.
