The exciting thing about this discovery is that I had to allow myself slack off a bit (for the first time... ever?) in order to realize that the work really was for me-- that while it does matter when my advisors get ticked at my lack of productivity, it matters more that I get unhappy about it. Having always worked hard for no particular reason, this is a good thing to learn.
