Short Update

Dec 05, 2007 16:55

I've been missing on here for awhile. The short version is, lots of lovely things have been happening in my life, but I'm still ill, and while we keep making slow progress in ruling things out (I do not have celiac disease, thank god) we don't seem to be progressing much toward answers. Which means I'm worrying a lot, and not working much, and ( Read more... )

I'm so sorry that you have to be worrying about your general health on top of everything else (grad school, post surgery, holiday stuff).

Keep us updated! And if your doctor can't figure it out, get a rec for an acupuncturist! They tend to spend more time in the diagnosis process.

I have recommendations for two acupuncturists and would love to go see one, but sadly, acupuncture is not covered at all under my insurance. So I'm jumping through all the (expensive, uncomfortable, slow) hoops that are covered first. But if this next round of hoop-jumping doesn't get me anywhere, I think I'll bite the bullet and pay out of pocket. It would be nice to get some relief that doesn't come from vicodin (not that I'm not grateful to have the vicodin, but still).

You can go to the clinic at Five Branches when you're in the SJ/SC area. It's much cheaper than going to a private doctor! Visit the Five Branches website for more info.

Yay jugs!

I'm ok as long as I don't get mad at myself for feeling bad. Or frightened of never being well again. As long as I dodge those two, I'm not in terrible shape.

I'm going to go make myself another pot of tea and think of you. That will make me smile.

I was not aware that you are still sick friend. I are sorry for you, it is not fun to feel shitty. I had a friend who felt sick for almost an entire year and it turned out that her immune system was attacking her spleen or the other way around. Spleen was removed and health returned. The body can be so strange like that sometimes. My happiest, wellest wishes are with you.

I'm sorry to hear you've been sick. That sucks. I hope you and your doctor can figure something out.
