A couple things.

First, hung out with some cool people - and some not so cool people - this weekend for a beautiful Sunday of drinking and carrying on and generally not worrying about life in general. Cool icon! My old roommate had that painting, we hung it in the living room of the apartment, she was so in love with the image. :D

If you like Fae/human books, have you read Holly Black's young adult series? There's three of them, Tithe, Valiant & Ironside. I freaking LOVED them.

Thanks! Oddly, my old roommate also had that painting, among others. He's her favorite artist.

I have indeed read Holly Black. I'm thinking of rereading them soon. Her books were the first of their kind for me, in regards to the way they depict Faerie, and I haven't looked back since :)

Wow, it is frightening to think of how unempowered that woman is. No wonder she feels the need to create drama. No sense of self or self-worth.

That is a great way of putting it, that hadn't occurred to me. Now me, I sort of trip into drama and faceplant on top of it when I'm involved. But I don't go looking for it, and certainly not as a backwards means of validation.
