Montage of "Video Enhancement"

This is one of my bugaboos, and one of the reasons I can't watch shows like CSI. (NCIS doesn't count. I have no good explanation why, but I really do enjoy the show.) I hear ya man. I feel the same way when I see that. At least in Sci-Fi flicks like BladeRunner there's a possibility that you could suspend your disbelief briefly with the idea that they have super-cameras that collect more information than our current tech does. In most of the cases on this example, that's not an option and people are given the idea that this sort of "enhancement" is commonplace.

Fortunately, I rarely get someone expecting Photoshop magic. Sometimes, if I point out that the images we're using for a project aren't very good, the response will be that I should, "just Photoshop it." Ack.

Apparently, shows like CSI and NCIS give real forensic scientists headaches. As in, juries now expect completely damning DNA-laced evidence at a trial. Without it, they are more reluctant these days to hand down a conviction.
