I really liked that line. I think everyone believes this, but try to ignore that fact when it comes to hope.
As for Kei, gah! If poor Kei was fitting last chapter, than I don't know what fits this now! Speechless, really. Great chapter, and looking forward to the next!

It was important to me to include the line about hopes. I believe hoping is something we just can't help doing, and yet we are disappointed ever so often.
Yes, Kei is having a rough time indeed. I feel very sorry for him ^^

I'm really intrigued at the end - it makes me wonder if there really is somebody else there, and if so, who.
I'm looking forward to the next chapter (:

I'll try not to let you wait too long for the next chapter. I'm trying to go for weekly updates, but just how good I'll be able to keep that schedule I'll have to see.

one wonderful chapter again. there were many lines that made me think for quite a while. i loved especially the part where kei contemplates both his reactions toward sho and yi-che. there are few authors who actually pick up on the flirtation going on between kei and yi-che, im happy you did :) it was touching to read how he was torn between both, while none of it seems farfetched or exaggerated the way you wrote it.
another part that gave me chills was kei remembering his victims in such a clear way.
now all i want to know is whose voice this is! doesnt feel like any of his friends...
gah! hurry up xD

I love the mild flirting going on between them. To me, the interaction between Yi-Che and Kei always felt like a big might-have-been - the potential was definitely there, but there were too many obstacles in their paths. And Sho himself seemed to know that in the end, he was always her second choice.
I like to imagine that someone laden with guilt as Kei would never be able to forget a victim. He seems too horrified by his own actions to not remember.
I'll try to get chapter three done quickly ;)

exactly. im still waiting for the day i'll find a moon child fanfiction devoid of all slash and yaoi, which instead concentrates on that might-have-been relationship bewteen kei and yi-che and shos reaction to this.
taken aside keis deranged, guilt-laden mind, i admire him for his long memory! (i have a memory like a sieve, especially when it comes to recognizing faces *coughs*)

Hm... hmmmmmm.... NOW you've given me an idea. Ohoho... dear me, that is one plot-bunny gnawing at my ankles right now. Might just be you won't have to wait all that long.
My memory is very picky. I do remember some faces of people that just passed me by on the street years ago, I can quote from conversations I've had, books I've read, movies I've seen years ago - and then I forget other things within minutes. My mind is weird like that.
*goes to ponder plot-bunny some more*
You DO realize that you might have delayed chapter three just now, right? *evil grin*
