I must confess that it was chosen as a destination partially because I very much enjoy being able to tell people I'm going there as it does sound magical, mystical and far away. If I'm holed up with Rabbies and or Hepatitus and Typhoid of some kind on return, we'll have to rethink.
I understand that and periodically go through it myself. I need to read up a storm to shift the mountain of books out of my small living space though. It's great incentive.
Am expecting to be quite shell shocked after Zanzibar and will definitely write about it - somewhere.
Both my arms are a bit achey now from having had the shots. Hope the anti-malarials work. I can't fathom being any crazier etc.
Zanzibar! I'm jealous as hell, if that makes you feel good.
As for my dudgeon, it's lower than it is high...
I'm still waffling about joining Goodreads. Partly because I think I read even slower than you, and partly because it sounds like it would cut into my reading time...
The jealousy does help a little bit ;) I can't lift the 'Typhoid arm' above my head at the moment though so swings and roundabouts hah hah.
Goodreads is what you take from it. For me, I'm enjoying having to think about the book in order to make comments and updates and provide a decentish (by my standards) review at the end. It's not cutting into my reading time as it's just an App I flick through on the train for a moment or two. No point joining something you aren't sure about though.
