synchronistic WTF?

SoooooOOooooo ... I've been gone much of the week dealing with a dying person (lately a late, aka "dead", person) and the dead person's OTT hysterical descendants before they start WWIII among one another.

I arrive home to peruse LJ only to see a writers' block prompt on what to do with one's body after its dead.

*facepalm*

horror, humour

Honestly? That's exactly the kind of weird coincidence that creeps me out. *shudders*

I'm probably more amused than creeped out, precisely because one party of the so-far-averted WWIII is desperate to do things with the body (perfectly legal things, to clarify) that the other party of the potential WWIII most assuredly does not want done.

IOW, if this particular incident is any indication, it's something people should be clear about to those who survive them.

*my head still boggles at some of what I had to witness this week*

That kind of thing is exactly why all of my family have been told repeatedly that and why I carry an organ donor's pass.

Sorry to hear you had such a difficult weak. *hugs*

In this case, organ donation isn't possible and it was more a matter of how the remains were to be handled, with one party demanding things that were contrary to the deceased wishes and no matter how often that was explained, kept returning to the issue again and again and again.

I'm very pleased to have been able to be part of the deceased's final hours, but the OTT person? Well, let's just say it gave me the opportunity to realise that I am not personally cut out to be a handler for guests on Jerry Springer. ;-)

It sounds like the week from hell. :-( I'm sorry you had to go through that and then finally return to LJ only to find that writer's block prompt. I hope the items on your flist are a little less traumatic.

It was less traumatic than just really weird, honestly.

Death is sad, yes, but I've been around it often enough that I'm reasonably comfortable with the various aspects of it. If anything, it's sort of nice to be able to share that knowledge in the sense of helping others go through it, both the person dying and those who survive after.

The hell in this case was the OTT descendant. I'm thinking that person would be a great guest for a show like Jerry Springer or something. *headdesk*
