[roomaji/translation requests]

Or, in which Kyo proves that she has no life.

This post is exactly what it says on the tin. You comment on this post requesting me to translate something to English or romanise it. (The latter is always faster.)

Some guidelines:

1) I will only accept requests for text translations. Some people talk funny. If I have to translate them, I get very frustrated. You won't like me when I'm frustrated.

2) I do not accept all requests. Generally, I don't deny song requests, but I will in special cases.

If you ask for a manga or novel translation, you're going to have to convince me that it's worth my time. (Pro-tip: In the case of the former, "it has really pretty art" is good enough. "It's published by Mag Garden" is also one of my biases.)

3) If requesting a song, I ask that you give me a download link and a link to either the lyrics themselves or scans of the lyrics booklet. It makes my life a whole lot easier if you do.

4) I do not pretend to have a set turnaround time. If I accept your request, it'll take anywhere from a few days to half a year for me to get around to completing it. Obviously, longer requests will take longer for me to complete. Everything from my interest in the project to how much free time I have is a factor in how long it takes me.

5) I also do not pretend to be a professional. I am vaguely fluent in Japanese, but I am nowhere near a native's level; my downfall was that I stopped speaking Japanese when I was eight years old and only started studying it again after entering high school.

TL;DR: I MAKE MISTAKES. LOTS OF THEM.

6) I'm doing this because I'm bored and because I think it's good study for my exams in May. I'm not doing this out of the goodness of my heart.

7) I will stop accepting requests without warning.

The only guarantee I can give you all is that I will probably not be accepting in April and May, as I will be stretched between volunteering at festivals and exams.

Either way, it will be quite obvious when I'm not accepting, as I'll update this post in large, bold letters.

NOW THAT I HAVE THAT GIANT WALL OF TEXT OUT OF THE WAY, REQUEST AWAY!
