Ok, that having been said... I'm pretty much a guy when it comes to my movie tastes, but this is one of the very few films that makes me remember I have a vagina. I fucking LOVE this movie, and I LOVE that you made it into fic. I'm so impressed that you translated it so well into words. Basically, this is one of the few films that can actually make me cry, and you managed to hit all the same spots with this. I stayed up til 3 am just to read this and it was so SO worth it. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

and now, I really do have to sleep LOL <3

Haha, no worries, I'm cool.

But thank you so much for your comment! This movie is pretty special to me as well, although its for sentimental reasons rather than feelings or anything like that (though this is one of the rare romantic films I actually watch, ahaha). I've always wanted to do a translation of this movie though, and I'm glad that the challenge gave me a chance to do so. I'm really glad you enjoyed it, and doubly so that you think the translation worked. :D

Thanks again, and sleep well. <3

This was an amazing story. I remember liking the concept in the movie, but you made the story so much better. The tragedy of this separation by time is felt so much more keenly in your story. When Dean didn't show up at Il Mare, my heart broke a little, even though I was expecting it. And then Cas wrote that one line letter, "You weren't there. You didn't come." I just started crying ( ... )

Thank you so much for this insightful comment! I loved the concept of this movie myself, and hearing that I've managed to translate it over well enough really makes me glad. That's one of the main things I had been concerned about when I wrote this, and I'm glad that it worked for you. c:

The thing with the restaurant staff actually comes from the 2003 UD script - that one was actually 200 pages long, so there was a lot more content to work with aside from the movie itself (as you can see from some parts that the movie never had). I thought it was a really nice touch myself, so I added it - and I'm glad you liked that.

Haha, maybe in other times I would have made it a bad ending, but since this is for dc_everafter a happy ending would be more suitable, and I'm not that bad as to put bittersweet endings for all of my stories. |D But seriously, thanks a lot for your kind words! I really appreciate it.

This was so lovely and sweet and I wish I had better words to say how much I adored reading it. The seperation between the two over the four years was an ache that I felt through the entire story. There's an ethereal quality to it, the way you've written this, the way you describe the house and Dean and Cas and their lives that I really enjoyed. It made it seem much more fairy tale-esque.

I saw the movie years ago and didn't really remember that one but I know I'll remember this. And I adore your end and how now, even though this is their real first full meeting where they understand each other, they're already solid and sure of who they are as a couple. Falling in love through letter and circumstance is such a unique way to do it these days and you managed to make it beautiful and believable.

Thank you for sharing.

Yeah - one think that got me to like this film was the whole time-distance thing, and the fact that its actually not something monumental or anything like that. It's just what it is, and a catalyst for the couple to meet in the first place. Like you said, it definitely has that fairy tale like quality to it despite the film actually being very modern and realistic, which feels like something... different, you know? The simplicity of the movie itself is something that I really like too.

Anyway, thank you so much for reading and commenting! I really appreciate it. c:
