I collect industrial sewing machines. Only German ones.
Soon I will have 6.
I need to stop.
I mean, I use them of course!
Six takes up an awful lot of room tho.
I like tinkering with them. Like a man in a shed with kit cars.

Well, it is weird, a bit. But definitely no more than kit cars, or model railways, or swords. And you do use them.

One might say it were a fetish... with the detailed requirement!

One might. But only if one were engaged in flights of fancy. It's not a fetish. It's just that you're weird. ;)

However Im not sure why you would need 6 machines...? Surely they do the same thing?

I have 5 machines total... a 1951 Singer Model 401a desk edition, a 1960 Signature, a really terrible 1995 Brother and a 2000 Singer 404T (I think)... then I also have a Singer Quantum Lock Serger.. I bought it used without the book for $40 so I dont know how old it is. Looks like mid 90s.
If I had the money though, I would totally get rid of that Brother and collect quality machines... like classic Husquavarnas....*shudder of delight*
What brands and models do you like for what types of projects?

I had six vintage domestics in the flat for a while, I had to give a couple away before they bred any more.

Actually I confess, I absolutely *hate* industrial overlockers. I can't be doing with the thread break ugh-ness and the awkward rethreading.
So, I splurged and bought the coveted Babylock Wave Evolve. It was so worth it.
I'm not serging the universe.
I also at one point had five kick presses! Why?!
Vintage domestics are sooo pretty though :)
