Jorg, this is gorgeous. The detail is so crisp.
I should know, but I don't. Is this cast? If so do you cast it in several parts?

No it is not cast. The bird is engraved on a silver disk. The setting is constructed from a disk with a bezel soldered to it. Twisted wire soldered to the disk and bezel. The setting is then rivited to the coronet. A wire suport is inside the setting and then the engraved disk is put in place, the bezel turned over to hold it in place.

I asked my question wrong, sorry. I was wondering if the cornet was cast or fabricated?
Even the medallion sounds complicated ;-)
I have several Medieval shards of pottery, would you be interested in setting one in in silver to make a broach?
