Favourite Fic: The Heartbeat of Rain (yoomin; pg-13)
I have a soft spot for this fic. Even though it isn't long, I think I said everything I wanted to say, and it turned out exactly the way I wanted it to. To take a look at some of my personal favourites, do check out the fics marked with a ♥ in my master list of fics.
Best Fic: Paper Planes ( jaechun, yoomin; pg-13/light r)
There are some fics that I've written that have gotten more comments than this one, but I think that this is the best thing I've written this year. It was my first try at writing something ambiguous and it turned out better than I expected it to.
Most Underappreciated Fic: This heart you reside in (yoomin; nc17)
I actually like this fic the best out of all my earlier works (I wrote it in June, but if you look at my master list, it is only the fifth one-shot I wrote this year, which makes it early). I think there are two reasons why it isn't as well-liked as my other fics, the first being I wrote it pretty early, and the second being the fact that it is friends-locked. So, this fic is going to be unlocked for a week for people who aren't members of this community.
Most Fun Fic: Still Life (minsu; pg-13)
Honestly, I don't think any of my fics are fun, so I picked the fic that I had the most fun writing. Which is ironically a death!fic. Still, I had a great time writing it, especially the last part. Personally, this is one of my favourite fics out of everything I've written this year.
Sexiest Fic: The Problem with Patterns (yoomin; nc17)
It's one of the only NC-17 things I've written so far, and even though it wasn't easy, at least there's shower sex, so it can probably pass as the sexiest thing I've written this year. Or ever.
Fic that shifted my own perception of the characters: The Sound of Flight series (ot5; pg-13/r)
This series involves my writing from the POVs of all five of the boys, which I struggled with at first, but now, it is getting much easier. I think by the time this series is complete, I will be ready to tackle new pairings that I've yet to try.
Fic I'm Most Proud Of: Gravity (jaemin; pg-13)
This won first prize at the _starcandy Awesome!1000+ contest, so I guess I'm proud of it?
Biggest Disappointment: Probability (jaemin; pg-13)
I still think I could have done much better for this fic, but writing Gravity sort of made up for my displeasure with this fic.
Biggest Surprise: To sleep, perchance to dream (changmin-centric, yoomin; pg-13)
First of all, this is surprising because I didn't expect it to be so well-received. Even though I labelled it as Yoochun/Changmin, there is only about ten sentences about them, and I'm pleasantly surprised when so many people enjoyed it. I started writing this without any specific plot in mind, and I surprised myself when the story started to come together halfway through the fic. This fic isn't long, but I think that it actually has more plot than some of my longer stuff.
Hardest Fic to Write: The Sound of Flight series (ot5; pg-13/r)
I never thought I'd be able to write a multi-part, and even though it is not finished, I've already amazed myself for getting so far. There are only a couple of parts up, but to write every single one of those parts took a lot of time and effort. I have to keep re-reading what I've written before, to make sure that there are no loop-holes, to ensure that the personalities of the characters are kept constant, and that I don't change my writing style or tone in between parts. Even though writing this has been difficult, I had a great time as well, and I hope that by the time I complete this, it will turn out to be a series that can be re-read over and over again.
A Fic I Want Remembered: The Sound of Flight series (ot5; pg-13/r)
A lot of effort went into this, so I'd love for this to be remembered.
Goals for Next Year: Complete tSoF successfully, to write a great fic for dbsk_bigbang. I'm don't have a lot of goals next year because I'm having major, major exams next year, and I'll have to make time for studying.
