I think too much

Marriage!

Some of us love the very idea of it, the tradition, white dresses, altars, the magic of wedding rings, wedding receptions, etc. Some of us despise it because it's governed by law/it's outdated/it binds you/it pleases nobody but your not-so-liberal kin/it's for keeping up the appearances.. the reasons against it are plentiful. Well said.

I'll be frank with you: I don't give a rat's ass about the toilet seat issue.

Ha, I know. I've shared bathrooms with boys my entire life. Putting the seat down is really not a hardship. It's definitely better than having it covered in urine.

Thank you!

Seriously, what's the point with drilling this topic? It's just a toilet seat.

I like this. You bring up some good points, ie the whole toilet seat. It's freaking ridiculous how much of a big deal that seems to be. I for one do not care. I can look before I pee, and no it doesn't take long. In my household, I imagine it will be did you wash your hands that becomes the big war since I can't stand people who don't after they go to the bathroom.

Also, I've been meaning to ask you. Your links (autumn shelves->whiteboard unicorns) where are they supposed to go. Do you have two left sidebars? I'm asking only because it sometimes covers up your text when I scroll over to read your entries and I'm trying to figure out if it's supposed to be that way or if my browser is just weird.

Thank you :)

It works fine for me, even in Mozilla.. that's strange, really. I don't have two sidebars. Maybe try reinstalling your browser? :3
If this doesn't help, I will change the layout. I've been meaning to do so anyway.

Hm. When I saw that show up on my dash I thought "hm, this makes me sad" because there's always that implication that in order to be a strong, feminist woman, you have to reject love, or, rather, not need it. Well, I need it. I assume that everyone who isn't aromantic needs it. So I think this princess was aromantic, because I don't know if I could live my life without love.

Me neither. Love keeps me going, and I want to fall in love. Love doesn't necessarily put restraints on you.

I guess the princess is of the mindset that love makes us weak and is too mainstream for modern females. That we can't give in because when we do, we're lost and we 'abide the rules of the society'. It's really sad, yes.

It's only sad for us romantics. I suppose it's freeing for the aromantics that have to live in a thus-far romantics-only world.

Very well said. I didn't know about war of the toilet seats, but lol. I never paid any attention or curiosity about marriage, but I was able to get some enlightenment after reading this entry. :) Numbers 3 and 4 were things I can relate to, or at least I can think realistically about. I've always thought about those things, that if once a woman gets married, does she have to go to the man's place (which is the usual way here) or the other way around? It made me wonder if the women have choices at all. I also believe that any married person can go around the world anywhere he or she wants. It doesn't mean that just because one's married, he or she doesn't have the right to go out of their houses or something. Sometimes, we all think that marriage means being locked up in your place with your husband or wife. Others even think that marriage takes away one's freedom, but it's one's choice if he or she wants to follow that old rule that doesn't even exist.
