I have no skills with weapons; I would be more likely to hurt myself than someone else. I just attempt to be very cautious when answering the door... and there are my guardians nearby, as well.

Nonetheless, it's better than no weapon at all. Use a bat or some other sort of blunt instrument if you're worried about cutting yourself.

Of course. And who knows how different these worlds may be? Some may be relatively similar. Other may be vastly different. For example, I live on a world that is a flat disc which sits on the back of the great A'Tuin. And the elephants, of course. And yet from what I have gathered, most other worlds are inexplicably large round spheres. And until you ask someone, how would you know if they world is alike or different?
