Yes. I know it's snowing in summer. I know it's fun. I know you all want to spend all day throwing it at each other. But now that there's no longer any acid rain that will kill you if you go outside, you can start coming back to school, students ( Read more... )

Good to hear someone's willing to give the kids here a proper education.

It'll give them a little normalcy.

Children always need an education. How else can you expect them to learn?

What do you think of this unusual phenomenon, Miss Susan?

inner_sitter August 6 2009, 06:31:54 UTC
It's unusual, of course, but not impossible. And the unusual is practically expected in this place. We will learn about unusual weather events such as this in the next week.

[[ooc: I wish I could have Susan give you a proper explanation BUT I DON'T KNOW. I do know it's possible, though - a few years ago it snowed on Christmas in some of the southern states. (Not unusual for most of the people on the Internet, yes, but I live in Australia. And here, Christmas is in summer and always ridiculously hot.)]]

Has this sort of thing ever happened on your world? I imagine weather patterns might move a bit differently on an utterly flat surface.

[[ooc: Actually, Eriol's last post was the best explanation I could come up with. Volcanoes majorly screw with weather patterns.

Summer Christmas is so weird.]]

There's always a level of unpredictability in my world. Particularly with the gods' tendencies to use excessive lightning all the time.

[[ooc: Yes, assume Susan talks about that or something. or gives some other logical explanation. EVEN GOOGLE FAILED ME, DAMMIT ):.

To me, the idea of snow at Christmas - well, at least in Aus - is just baffling. When it happened it was just..."What? Snow? On Christmas? In fucking Australia?!?!"...that was one weird day, let me tell you. And if I'd been in the areas that had snow, it would have been even weirder. Course, we snow that snow at Christmas happens, seeing as we have all the snow themed decorations and Winter Wonderland music and whatnot, even though Christmas is always a ridiculously hot day and every goes swimming and eat salad. It's a bit hard to miss, really. We just don't expect it to happen here.
