**Opinion
politics: I am an independent voter myself, but I tend to lean conservative more than I do liberal because of my personal beliefs. The political system here in the US, in my opinion, is becoming too much about arguments between representatives of both parties and less about what the people really want. Those arguments are all we seem to hear about in the news these days, and I wish they'd just get back to legislating and stop arguing over who did what wrong to whom!!  I don't like all the blaming that goes on in politics these days, locally and nationally.

suicide: I don't believe that suicide is a way out, personally. However, it does happen, and it saddens me to hear about anyone deciding to take their own life. I do believe, however, that there really are people out there in excruciating pain that have tried all the medical/natural/aruvedic possibilities and that if they do take their own lives that they may be better off.  That's just how I feel about it though. It's a very confusing and sad subject to deal with.

gay rights: I'm all for gays having the same rights to have a partner and get married as those of us that are straight have. They are human and they love each other. What gender they are really shouldn't matter, because if you've got the right person, you love them no matter what gender, race, etc. that they are.  Gays should be able to get married, get joint insurance, adopt kids, and do everything else we straight couples do.

abortion: A woman does have the right to choose, but I don't think that she should just get rid of a baby just because she made the error of having sex without a condom/using some kind of birth control method in the first place. Yes, condoms can break and birth control can fail, but a woman needs to be aware of these things!! I'm all for abortion only if the woman is raped, a victim of incest, if her health is bad and the birth may or may not cause her death, and if she's in an extremely abusive situation where bringing a kid in wouldn't be the best thing in the world at that time. Otherwise, if a woman just goes and has sex, gets pregnant and just wants rid of the baby just so she doesn't have to be a Mom, I say that she shouldn't do it. She had sex, should've known when she was ovulating, and taken the responsibility to get protection or use some type of birth control.

religion: I'm a christian girl by faith, but I respect and enjoy reading about the other religions. I don't like what the unpeaceful Islams are doing in Iraq, but I still respect the religion because, like everything else in life, there is good and bad to every religion. I'm not a bible thumper (meaning I don't "witness" or push my religion on other people). I also don't hold the belief that any religions other than my own are bad and mean the practicioners are going to hell, cause they're not.

plastic surgery: I don't like the idea of it for myself. I'm happy with the body I was born with. However, others may not be happy, and I say if you have the money and the time to get it done, go for it. Just don't go overboard with the surgery. If you go overboard, things may look worse than they previously had. It reminds me of the Barbie lady I saw on the news one day...she had tons of plastic surgery just so she could have a perfect body like a Barbie Doll. If I can find the link from which I read about her, I'll post it.

sex education: I'm all for it. However, I believe it should start with the parents. How did I learn? Well, when I was 4 (yes, that is not a typo), my Mom got my brother and I, sat us down, and opened up her Anatomy/Physiology book and showed us the private parts of both sexes. She gave the lecture again when I was 8  (so my bro would be refreshed). I learned the right way - from my Mom instead of my friends. Learning it in school is a good thing either in addition to parental education or by itself - you actually learn the facts about abstinence, condoms, what sex is all about and the diseases you can catch if you don't watch yourself. The worst way to learn about sex is from your friends. Why do I say that? Because friends can sensationalize it and put ideas into your head that end up being wrong. I speak from personal experience on the last part.

Separation of church and state: It's a pretty good thing. It ensures that Christianity isn't pushed upon Jewish kids, that Islam isn't pushed upon Christian kids, and you can figure out the rest. I believe that the government has no place in religion, and vice versa.

animal rights: I'm for good treatment of all animals. I am not, however, for the radicalism of organizations such as PETA. I don't like the idea of people having animal blood thrown on them for wearing furs. I don't like furs myself, but let people do what they want to. Don't be nasty to them just because they won't do what you think they should! I'm an animal lover, but I refuse to be a fanatic.

death penalty: I think the death penalty is just an "easy out" for bad criminals. They should be sentenced to life without parole and should be made to think about the crimes they committed for the rest of their lives. In fact, the worst criminals should be locked in solitary for the rest of their lives. Yeah, it seems harsh, but dying seems too easy for the worst of them, in my opinion.

stem cell research: I'm all for this because there are diseases out there that would probably be cured if we were allowed to use frozen, unwanted embryos to research and discover those cures. These embryos are NOT aborted, nor are they considered fetuses because they are NOT implanted in the female body nor are they fully developed. They are there for the couples who have fertility problems that want to use IVF (in vitro fertilization) to concieve children. When the couples don't want the embryos, they are destroyed. They are not saved forever. So, why let all these unused embryos go to waste when we could be finding cures for diabetes, Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's Disease? Use them to find the cures so that these dreadful illnesses will stop causing people so much grief!

pornography:  I personally don't watch pornography, but if a person does it in moderation and/or if they watch it with their partner, I'm fine with it. If it's done more than once weekly or if a person locks themselves up in a room away from everyone to constantly watch it, then I don't think it's right to watch. Porn can be just as addicting, if not more addicting, than any drug out there.  In reference to censorship of porn, it really does need to be censored. Children under 18 shouldn't be exposed to adults having sex with one another.It's just not right.

affirmative action: This may sound bad, but I don't like the idea of affirmative action. I have been turned down for numerous jobs - not because I didn't have enough experience - I had plenty...but because I wasn't the right race. "Sorry, we've already met our quota, and we'll lose our affirmative action funding..." is what I heard. Same goes for college. I got rejected from my college of choice during my senior year in HS because they'd already met their quota for the year. Every minority I know that applied there got in with NO problem. This is the problem I have with affirmative action.  I have no problem with minorities being successful. I just don't like being REJECTED for not being a minority!

teenage pregnancy: I have an interesting story about this. I was one of those who blamed the girls for having sex in the first place until I met a now good friend of mine in one of the first college classes I took. Turns out she had her first kid at 16 and actually took the responsibility of caring for the child on her own. She made it through HS and is now working on her Bachelor's Degree. She is my age and has an 8 year old and a 4 year old. She is one of the best Moms to her kids that I have ever had the pleasure of being around.  In meeting this amazing woman, my opinion went from "Well, you shouldn't have spread your legs then" to "Well, if you end up pregnant, realize the responsibility you're taking on, because abortion is not an option. You can put the baby up for adoption, but that's a very emotionally trying thing to do, you may change your mind once you give birth to that baby!". I hope that's enough to answer this. That's how I feel.

**Stuff
-Give us your own personal definition of ‘inner beauty.’: I define inner beauty as how someone treats their family, friends, and people they come upon in society. It's the glow they get when they talk to you about what they love, who they love, or when they're encouraging you to be your best.
-What makes life worth living for you? The fact that I have a wonderful family (despite all our problems) and that I have a wonderful husband who encourages me to go for my dreams no matter what. Also, the fact that I know there is an afterlife and that I will be a big part of it. Above all things, though, knowing that I will achieve all my goals no matter how hard they may be is what makes life worth living for me.
-If you could meet anyone, dead or alive, who would it be? Why? I think I'd like to meet Mae West. She was quite the wildwoman (the opposite of me) and I would love to spend a day with her just talking about life, goals, and the people she got to meet.
-If you could kill one person, famous or not, who would it be and why? (**Note, this is just for fun, if you will. We're not asking you to go out and actually kill someone.) Justin Timberlake. Say no to me for that alone, but his voice (singing and talking), his attitude, and his general demeanor just annoy the living hell out of me.  How could Cameron Diaz even go there?
-What makes you unique? Any weird quirks? Strange habits? Well, when I'm deep in thought, I tend to twirl my hair.  Also (and this is gonna sound so weird), I can't feel temperature on the bottom of my feet. I had my feet operated on when I was 11 and they must've messed with nerve endings in my feet or something. I can feel everything else but temperature on the bottom of my feet. (Told you it was weird).
-If you could become famous, what would you want to be known for? I would like to be known for writing a bestselling book on how to deal with adolescence. It wasn't an easy time for anyone and I would love to help teenagers in that way. If not for writing a non-fiction book, then I'd love to be a famous poet, and have my poetry, like Shakespeare's, known throughout the world and throughout history.
-Describe yourself in five words. witty, interesting, kind, sweet, abnormal.
-Name one good and one bad thing about yourself. I'm very good at helping people through their problems. The bad thing about me is that I can seem too quiet/snobby when people first meet me. I'm just quiet until I get to know someone a little bit.
-What is your favorite childhood memory? I remember going to Carlsbad Caverns with my Dad, Stepmom and brother. That was probably the best trip I ever went on with anyone with my family because it was the first time I got to see the desert for real. It was such a beautiful sight to me at the time, and my family was actually getting along back then.
-Guilty pleasures. We all have them. What’s yours? It can be a movie, tv show, food, etc. Then tell us why you like it. My guilty pleasure is a movie - Dirty Dancing. I like it for two reasons: because of how romantic and moving it really is, and because of Patrick Swayze. I know every line of the movie and cry when it ends every single time I watch it. :-)
-What is the best gift you’ve ever received? Why? I think that my Mom being sober is probably the best gift I've ever recieved. She was on crack/cocaine and alcohol since I was 11, and finally got sober after I left home when I was 18. The reason I consider her being sober such a gift is because her clean date is also my birthday. Her first day clean was April 8th.
-Would you want people to laugh or cry at your funeral? Why? I would want them to cry because they missed me, but then I'd want them to smile and laugh when remembering all the good times we had (and some of the crazy ones too).
-What would you do if you were Frodo and you had the ring? If I were Frodo and had that ring, I believe I'd be in real trouble. I would probably do what he did and take care of it on my own, but there would be the temptation while I had the ring to just put it on and become the most powerful ruler in the world.
-What civil rights issue do you believe in and/or support the most?  I believe in privacy for all medical records in the world. My current (soon to be former) career is in the medical field, and I strongly support all the HIPAA laws that protect us from employers/credit card companies from using our info to determine if we're fit to work in their company or if we're healthy enough to have credit cards from them. I definitely wouldn't want people to know about all my medical info. That's my business and the business of those taking care of me. That's IT.

-What are some of your dreams/aspirations? Besides staying with my husband for the rest of our lives? Well, I want to eventually become an adolescent counselor. I plan on encouraging them to write in journals as part of their therapy. I would love to write a book about how writing is such a critical part of therapy for many mental illnesses, including depression, schizophrenia and even Obsessive-Compulsive disorder. Also, I want to retire with my husband, buy an RV and tour all 50 states.  I just want to look back on my life and see that I accomplished everything I set out to accomplish.

-Why do you want to join this community? I want to join this community because it's full of people that will see what I'm like on the INSIDE and accept me only for that. I've been rejected from many prettyBBW communities because of my damn smile. They rejected me because my teeth were too crooked. I want to be in a community like this where I'm not expected to be a clone of Camryn Manheim or Sara Rue!
