I'm not a fan of 3.5. It is not that I think good stories can't be told with it. I think they can. I just find that the more I fuss with rules, the less I focus on stories.
Personally, I like systems that are somewhere in between Amber and D&D. I like dice rolling, but I also like very simple and fast rules. Buffy the Vampire Slayer (and the other unisystem games) are a perfect example of the kinds of system I like.
I won't say anything bad about fans of D&D in any of its many versions. Its just not my cup of tea.
