betta splendens
i got a betta fish yesterday! YAY!
i named him kizuki, taken from the character who committed suicide in norwegian wood. uh, what?
so, i bought a 2.5 gallon tank from petco and proceeded to fill it with tap water + aqua safe (dechlorinator) + dark blue gravel. i didn't cycle it because it's less than 5 gallons. so, frequent water changes here i come...:(
let the water sit overnight and got a fish yesterday evening. ^__^ bought from petsmart. too many betta that will end up unsold. :( anyways, i chose this little guy because he seemed the most alert.
also bought a rock thingy and a fake plastic plant (should have gotten silk but i couldn't find any) for him. so i threw those in the tank first. also reluctantly installed the filter thing. still not sure if my betta digs a current, so the filter thing might not be permanent.
acclimating the sweet little betta! their blue water is disgusting!
that turkey baster was bought solely for fish use.
post-transfer of fish. he was quite pale and listless from all the stress of changing waters and whatnot. :(
hiding in the rock thing. ^__^
about an hour ago, i covered the back with black felt and he's been swimming around ever since. due to the fact that he sees a little bit of reflection i suppose...
the ONLY picture with his true color. also the only flaring picture.
YAY FISH! thi wants dwarf puffers. (PUFFERS YAY REMEMBER KATIE???)
