[DNAngel]
The reason why I joined LJ. At that time I was totally addicted to the anime that was aired on TV n the manga just revived but I couldn't find the bk 12 / 13 scans. Then after much googling, I found yaminokaitou's journal with scanlations of Stage 3 Volume 18 / 19 n ttly spazzed. The rest was history and I started to also scanlate DNAngel chapters from Traditional Chinese scans as well :D
On why I liked DNAngel, it's due to the bishounen. Dark and Krad look awesome, plus Daisuke and Satoshi are lovable as well. Then there's also the supernatural element that I love to see in the manga I read.
It's also significant because it's the first shoujo manga I've read after Cardcaptor Sakura which I'll talk about later. Generally I hate shoujo manga due to lack of action n lack of supernatural stuff. However this one is very different and I like the opposites stuff in there as well. Like how Dark has black wings but he's good and Krad has white wings but is evil.
There's also a weird colour combo thing. Those who believe in shounen-ai insists tt red + blue = purple but blue + red = yellow. Quite twisted, but I like it. Although Satoshi x Daisuke can only end up with Dark x Krad so it can never really work. However I insist tt the pairings in the end will be Dark x Krad, Daisuke x Riku and Satoshi x Risa. Dark and Krad is the only shounen-ai / yaoi couple that I like in DNAngel as I only like Dark x Daisuke as partners in crime XD
My favourite chapter was Stage 3 Volume 20 on how it explained the past of the Hikari and Niwa ancestors plus how Dark and Krad were created. Their existence is really sad, and in short, they’re both curses who are cursed forever. Dark takes away love, and love is always taken away from him while Krad takes away life and his life is also taken away as the Hikaris shun him. And the most rhetorical question: Hikari, what have you done? It really just shows how ironic the situation is as this answer can never be answered, even by Hikari himself.
Other than that, I loved the CPR scene. And as a qualified first aider, I can say that Satoshi or rather Sugisaki-sensei got the procedure correct. Too bad that Dark had to spoil the fun.
Finally, I hope tt Sugisaki-sensei ends it nicely and as early as possible. I’m tired of waiting D:
[Kingdom Hearts]
I started because I read the manga n that there's a lot of KH fanart on deviantArt. Btw I dun have the game at all. Although I have to say that the first KH was only nice when Sora stabbed his own heart (is so sadistic) and Chain of Memories didn't have much pairings other than Namine x Sora which I object to. But Kingdom Hearts 2 is the best due to Organization XIII and Roxas aka Sora's Nobody plus a very emo Riku.
Another reason why I started with KH is due to some similarities with DNAngel. Daisuke and Sora both have spiky hair and act before they think while having the same seiyus. Then the both of them also have another half who wears black, are not entirely human and have sad existences aka Dark and Roxas. And there's also the darkness and light thing.
But I still think Roxas and Sora should interact more. They totally complement each other but at least Sora gets Kairi and Roxas ends up with Namine. Other than this, I also insist that Axel is RIku's Nobody. It's impossible that after being exposed to so much darkness and stuff, he doesn't become a Heartless / have a Nobody. With AkuRoku kind of reflecting RikuSora, it's just logical that Axel is Riku's Nobody even if there's no proof.
Generally I like the shouen-ai /yaoi pairings cos there are so few females n I don't like Kairi. SoraRoxas is my favourite and their battle in Japanese is win. Irino Miyu has an awesome voice. Other than that, the Sora + Riku fight against Mansex Xemnas is win cos Xemnas is such a bitch.
I'm thinking of doing a DNAngel crossover with Sora as Daisuke, Riku as Satoshi, Roxas as Dark, Axel as Krad, Namine as Risa n Kairi as Riku. LOL. Don't mix the two Rikus up though.
Organization XIII ftw.
[Cardcaptor Sakura]
The first anime / manga that got me into anime / manga stuff. When I was six, I watched parts of the anime on the children’s channel and I read the manga when I was nine. CLAMP has a really nice style of drawing especially at drawing wings (and Yue as well!). Which also caused me to have a fetish of angel wings and made me interested in DNAngel later. Magical girl stuff, I know. So it’s mostly a closet obsession.
Eriol was my most fave character even if other CCS fans tell me that he’s just a manipulative bastard. But it’s quite true. As Clow’s reincarnation, he needs to spilt up his powers. Anyway, he’s British, looks like Harry Potter with grey eyes, wears a black cloak, has a cool staff as compared to Sakura’s pink ones and is so gentlemanly… Fave pairing is Syaoran and Sakura because it’s so adorable. Even if Sakura is so dense and it took her almost 10 books to realise her feelings but this happens in lots of manga (see Ouran High Host Club below).
I still like Syaoran x Sakura in Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles even if the story of TRC is crap. I cried when I saw Syaoran embracing Sakura after god knows how many chapters. But I still like CCS Syaoran x Sakura better.
And it’s adorable-ness for the little bit of gayness . Yukito and Syaoran. Even though Touya x Yukito is so much better. Yay for bishounen pairings.
Cake / dessert-eating chibi creatures are cute too. Kero x Spinel was so funny in the OVA or movie or something like that fighting over some sweet.
Finally, I have to really thank CLAMP for producing such a good series which made my childhood so much better and joyful.
[Detective Conan]
I never really got into Detective Conan. I only read it because of Kaitou Kid. Which in short, means the only chapters out of 600+ (or was it 700 already?) I read was first 10 chapters( duh. I had to see how Shinichi was shrunk by the poison) and all the other chapters that involves Kaitou Kid.
Magic Kaito was so much better but Aoyama-sensei just had to pay more attention to his tantei instead of his kaitou. Btw I read MK cos after reading DNAngel, I just wanted to read another kaitou series.
Really. When will this end? I’m really dying to see whether Conan can find the antidote to the poison and revert back to Shinichi in the end. And finally I really want a Shinichi x Ran ending.
My idea of a perfect ending of DC is for Kaitou Kid to work together with his tantei-kun Conan to defeat the Black Organization in order to get the much wanted antidote. Then we can also get a teary Shinichi x Ran embrace as well and I’d be damn happy.
Last year Kid was the most popular char, then Shinichi and Conan. Or vice versa. I still consider Kid as most popular but Shinichi’s and Conan’s votes added together still won Kid. And they are the same person. Oh well.
The most recent Kaitou Kid arc was quite disappointing to me but it’s quite amusing to see Kid cross-dress as a maid (you know, with the costume as well). LOL. I bet Conan was blushing. *supports Kid x Shinichi / Conan*
On another note, I loved the openings n endings sung by Kuraki Mai in the anime. Her voice is so awesome and now I’m looking forward to more songs. I especially loved Secret of My Heart. The lyrics were touching as well.
[Ouran High Host Club]
Was introduced to this because a classmate lent me books of 1-9. I’m planning to continue to the latest chapter when I finish Kuroshitsuji.
I immediately could identify with Haruhi as I’m also quite a tomboy. Plus I currently look like her with glasses (think bk / ep 1). Other than that, I admire her for standing all the nonsense of the host club, esp Tamaki. And remaining sane when Tamaki isn’t
Speaking of tt idiot guy, I think that he’s super dense. He took like 10+ bks to realise tt he loves Haruhi. Srsly. But other than this, I respect him cos he’s rlly smart and positive.
Compared to the other chars, he’s got the worst life. Being the forbidden lovechild of an unknown French woman and heir of the Suou family, Tamaki has it hard. And he just had to look more like his mother ( blonde hair, blue eyes ) which in the eyes of his grandmother, reminds her of ‘that woman’
But he still remains as positive as ever and despite being quite idiotic sometimes, Tamaki is awesome. Tamaki x Haruhi ftw.
On the other guys, they are wonderful but they can’t compare with Tamaki… Hikaru and Kaoru are so gay loving which made me go aww whenever I see them.
Then for Honey and Mori, nothing much to say. I suppose I can only mention that he can never ever share cakes with L from Death Note. A big fight’s gonna occur for sure. Not sure whether Honey or L would win though.
Finally…Kyouya. I never really liked him and I still find him quite creepy. Oh well
In other words, I’m going to be quite dead due to homework and school stuff. This holiday seems worse than normal school days D:
