My Thoughts At This Point

1. As someone without a paid account, I would like to second telewoman's suggestion and add that, should anyone decide to file a suit with a private lawyer (Assuming that's an option with this kind of case. IANAL.), they already have over $200 in pledges to help them and will probably get much more if they ask for it. Just a little incentive ( Read more... )

I love the idea of sending the free v-gifts to LJ, but how does LJ's deal with Pepsi work? I'm worried that LJ will tell Pepsi, "Look, x number of your v-gifts have been sent!" and get paid more, in which case we'd be inadvertently helping LJ by sending them. Think this is a likely scenario?

Screenshot the damage. Save it. Send it to Pepsi. Show them what LJ users are REALLY associating their product with.

Thanks for the back-up! I think a lot of the posts lately have been due to sheer frustration. Understandable, but unfortunately largely ineffective as long as you're just dealing with LJ. If the AG demands that LJ/6A remove the 'sponsorship'and/or refund users' money, you'll be hitting them where it hurts. In the pocketbook.

I have to agree with 3. While I've found tons of petitions, open letters, and groups trying to ban the more threatening comms, the main issue is the censoring of the harmless user who may write or draw a piece depicting the "questionable material." Once LJ/6A learns that they can't pull the shit they're pulling now, then, maybe, and slowly, the really nasty comms can be analyzed and suspended.

Though, you gotta admit, once the dangerous comms are banned... what will become the new evil? Satanists? Goth music? Islamic and other religious comm. As much as I don't like the pro-anorexia, self-harm, and racist comms, I fear that some nut will ruin a lot of innocent comms (mega strikethrough all over again).

(OT..."What, you've never been bored? Never had a long night? Never had a lot of cabinets to put up?!")

I miss the Ninth Doctor. I love Tennant, but still wish Eccleston lasted longer. Especially since the Doctor can only have 12 regenerations, so there can only be 13 Doctors... you think they'd try to stretch the guys a little longer.

And the answer to Jack's question is: every Doctor Who fan EVER.

Yes! I miss my Nine! MY Doctor! Whyyyyyy only thirteen episodes?

But you don't REALLY think they won't find some loophole, do you? Davies has said it'd be doable enough. Of course, he probably won't be calling the shots when the time comes (and that will be another tragic departure!). Whoever it is, though, would have to have some pretty big balls to kill him off.

I'm just hoping that if they kill 13 off, and try and stick with the canon 12 regens-13 doctors, that they'll be a united Whovian front in getting all of the Doctor Who episodes on dvd, and maybe production stills, transcripts, and summaries of the lost and missing episodes.

(Isn't there something like the Doctor would have to strike a deal with the Master or someone to gain new lives? IMHO, I just think the Doctor has more dignity than that.)

I started with the revival series, and I watch to watch the old episodes, but I want to watch as many as I can in chronological order. Right now, doesn't seem like that's that much of the early Doctors out there (on the free intarwebs) to sate me.

That and.. sucks when you have to wait for SciFi to air it in the US. And TV links isn't being very kind to me lately.

"3. Pointing out 6A's hypocrisy will always be cool. Using it as a pretext for banning the people that you don't like is not. Anti-racism, anti-anorexia, and anti-self-harm are all good causes, but I signed up with innocence_jihad when it was strictly anti-censorship, and I'd personally prefer if y'all didn't change the rules half-way into the game."

Word! Karma_kalisutah has spoken wisely. People often get confused about this issue, thinking that to support someone's freedom of expression is the same as supporting their cause ( ... )
