Possible rumors surrounding her involve her ~ maidenly virtue~, which some of her flirting doesn't always dissuade. There are also rumors that she's just as much a tease as much as she supposedly easily gives out. Another rumor is that she knows all the gossip. ALL THE GOSSIP. History: Born as the second child of Lord Gabriel Vaux but first (and only) child with his second wife Oriane, Adelle's childhood was cheerful. She was a sweet enough child with a kind mother and doting father and brother. She learned whatever tutors or governesses tried to teach her as a proper daughter.
It looked like she was growing up to be one of the most proper of proper noble ladies, but she is of the House of Vaux. As she grew older and therefore understood more, she also grew to adapt into what surrounded the Vaux: luxury, parties, rumors, scandals, etc.
Oh, Adelle was smart enough about it. It wasn't like she completely threw herself headfirst into it all. First and foremost, she was still very young, and other things still held her interest. Second of all, she usually kept the propriety of a noble lady in mind. She took a subtle interest in gossip, at first, learning to be quiet and clever about it.
This all changed, however, when her mother died of illness when she was twelve. The death hit her hard. Losing a mother just before she entered her teenage years was something she never expected. She tried to cope with it as much as possible, putting up fronts all over the place.
It didn't exactly help when her father and brother's relationship worsened after that. She knew they weren't the closest, but when they couldn't even talk civilly even more after her mother's death, it escalated her grief. At first, when her father and brother began to spoil her more than usual or before, she thought they were trying to comfort her. However, she soon began to sense something off or weird about the way they constantly doted on her. It was almost as if they were... using her, but that didn't make any sense to her young mind, so she just accepted being spoiled. And got more and more used to being spoiled.
When her father got married to his third wife, that was almost a knife in the heart. She thought her father loved her mother; why would he get remarried? Why did he need to get remarried? Why did he even want to get remarried? She didn't understand, and a part of her was bitter about it.
She kept a pleasant enough, if somewhat distant, face for her new stepmother, though. To say Adelle didn't really warm up to her is not a lie. The young girl sought to become more and more social, seeking out more parties she could attend, indulging in the market more, and delving into gossip more.
When the stepmother became pregnant, Adelle wasn't very pleased but was prepared to live with it. When the woman died in childbirth along with the baby, the young girl was sorry but not much more than that. She didn't care enough. In a twisted way, she felt justified for not caring as much as she should have when her father got engaged not even a year later.
Adelle didn't like this new wife-to-be, especially with the rumors that she was supposedly originally for Valentin. Adelle is also pleasant enough to her face but coldly so. If there are a couple unfortunate mishaps that happen to the new fiancee, little pranks of no consequence, it wouldn't be a lie to say that Adelle might be behind them-- not that she'd ever admit to it outright or in public. Besides, she's too busy being fancy free~ Collecting gossip~ Indulging in luxury and parties~ Why would she ever waste her time making her life miserable~?
Personality: When most, if not every one, of Adelle's whimsies were fulfilled by her father and brother, it is not surprising to say that this teenage girl is spoiled. However, she puts on a pleasant face for everyone she first meets. It's what's proper of nobility--and especially someone of the Vaux family, at least in Adelle's mind.
More than pleasant, though, it is more accurate to say Adelle is playful. She likes to engage in fun and lives to be amused and entertained. This is where her spoiled nature especially comes out to play. She has many whimsies and her mood can change easily. Her flights of fancy aren't that secretive since she normally doesn't hide her moods.
However, that's not to say she can't be manipulative. While she can be extremely emotional, she also knows how to play her emotions right. A smile here to gain favor, a tear there to gain sympathy, a pout to get her way the next time. She is also not unlike her brother in gathering up gossip and secrets and finding out the skeletons in your closet. Gossip lover though she is, she is not a gossipmonger, per se. She saves that hurtful gossip for when it matters most - when it'll hurt you the most if you ever offend her.
There are times where Adelle shows casual cruelty (like brother, like sister), but she saves her real cruelty for those that lose her favor. She can be ruthless, hunting for ways to wound you and wound you deeply, and she likely won't feel sorry for it.
Adelle is not all terrible cruelty, however, as to those she likes and cares for, she is charming and sweet. She is giving and attentive to a point. It is not too difficult for her to make it seem like the world revolves around you (when she isn't being all about her own selfish desires, of course).

She loves her father and brother to death and back and would do (almost) anything for them, so seeing them so at odds and hateful with each other hurts her more than she really shows. She loves them, they love her, why can't they love each other?
