I actually got up the courage to flirt with someone yesterday, and it was exhilerating just to actually be attracted to someone and flirt with the intention of, you know, rather than just flirting to make small talk and stuff.
My roommate commented that most of the time, people want to flirt, but it's so hard to be like, "hi, you're cute" and stuff. It's rare that it happens so easily, especially when you're not in the co-op or something.
Point = it's rare that two people who want to flirt/talk get up the balls to do it. So...wait / try to find a situation where it's not totally awkies.
practice on old women at the rest home. that will help you get your courage up, and you wont have to worry as much about rejection. since they're all old.
