Fringe is expensive

I've been rewatching Fringe S1 because it was showing on Sky 1 this month. I (apparently naively) thought it would carry on into S2 and S3, but that doesn't look like it'll be the case. I tried watching Fringe when it was first out but it irritated me immensely, but this time around I'm liking it a lot better. So about the last third of the ( Read more... )

A friend recced FNL to me, saying, "It's really not about football." Having seen the first four seasons, I have to say yeah, FNL really is about football, but it's mainly about people whose lives center around football. And I love it. Hub and I started re-watching West Wing while we were waiting for the 5th season of FNL to be available, but we're looking forward to the conclusion.

I've seen S1 so far, which was fascinating and full of great characters, and a completely different cultural experience than I'm used to. It helped that I used to watch American Football quite often back in my uni years and following that, so at least all that arcane sporting language wasn't incomprehensible to me. I had to order S2 in R1 format as only S1 has ever been released here on DVD, which is a shame.

Taylor Kitsch (Tim Riggins) is going to star in this summer's extravaganza movie based on Edgar Rice Burrough's John Carter stories. I suspect the movie will be utter cotton-candy and won't make good use of Kitsch's acting skills, but I'm going to go see it anyway. *G*

If you run out of other stuff and want to see more Fringe, I know someone (*cough* *cough*) who could send you DVDs with .avi files on them.

LOL! It's odd how my view of this programme has changed between the first time I tried to watch it and this time around. I was frustrated by it first time around, annoyed that it was going up its own backside in the same way X Files did. I wonder now if that was because I was watching it weekly and it was slow to give any answers, whereas this time I've watched S1 as 1 ep a day over 4 weeks and at least some answers are, unsurprisingly, coming much faster.

Er, so, um, your *friend*... will pass over to another medium.
