Sam wished his stupid, beat-up brother didn’t suddenly sound so proud of him. So stunned and awed and proud. Where I sniffed a bit. And then a lot at the end. God, this is so damn good, Jo. You got that whole AU world of ER medicine down perfectly. Loved all the House-like antics at the beginning too - "curtain four" indeed. And I was holding my breath for Sam's decision at the end there..
