[why so much yelling this week augh. he actually thinks it's Hanna at first and peers into the house to check things out. of course, he notices an absence of screaming Hanna and creepy drone Mari pretty quickly, and the latter can only mean one thing.

UP THE STAIRS HE GOES TO INVESTIGATE. the source of the noise is pretty easy to locate, what with there only being one unoccupied bedroom.

now he's sort of adopting a 'speaking to a small brain-addled child' voice, but he's still very patient and relatively cheerful about it!]

The small amount of good a human might show is nothing in comparison to the wrongs they've committed against the earth. You are too young to understand something like that, though. [headpat for Florian. he likes him better instantly since he might not be 'human', much like the original Ion.]

it's okay, because it's apparently the tone that works best with him anyway. small child mentality and all. ]

So I'll understand when I get older? [ ooh, headpats. florian likes headpats. and he attempts to count on his fingers. ] How old will I have to be? Anise said that I'm two right now.. And I think three comes after two..

[ he makes multiple attempts to count through the numbers 1 - 10 using his fingers. ] One, two, three, four, five, seven-- no...six comes after five. Five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Yeah! So when I'm three?

[awww awwww a little two year old mutant clone thing. he is just perpetually going to be housed with weird things, isn't he.

it sort of explains why he doesn't know anything, at least.]

You might. A single year doesn't make a great deal of difference, though.

and then he seems to remember another one of his questions. holds up one of the pictures he snatched off the wall like a boss! ]

How did we get in these?

Ah, that's a photograph. People use cameras to take still pictures of other people or things. This is false one, of course. [reaching over to grab said picture and point at Kid and Hanna.]

These two are from different worlds, much like you and I. This picture is set up to look as though we're a family unit. Does that make sense? [yep, still using the talking-to-children voice. he is just a fountain of patience.]

Like a drawing? [ He follows where Hao's fingers point at, and reaches out to touch the photo. ] So it's supposed to look like we're all Mama and a Papa and children? But we're not. And me and you and him-- [ He points at Kid. ] are supposed to be sib-- sibles? [ Actually the word is siblings, but details. Who needs them. ]

By this town's standards, but you don't have to pay it any mind. Nobody but the drones takes the family arrangements seriously and as long as you return to this house every three days, you can stay wherever you'd like.

he's silent for a little while, apparently losing interesting in asking questions.

oh look. flowers. florian likes flowers. toddles his way over to them, and after admiring them for a few minutes, carefully picks a few and toddles right back over.

here hao. have a flower being clumsily pushed behind your ear. what is this personal space you speak of.

..it made anise happy when he did it okay.

aaaand takes his place again, putting a flower behind his own ear and giving a ~*bright smile*~. ]

[if anything, he looks mildly amused at the strange kid and his ADD-induced antics. at least he doesn't bother to remove the flower. it goes so well with the whole rabid hippie motif and all.]

[ And then, looking proud: ] I'm Florian! [ Proud because it was the name he was given. His own name, and no one could take it away from him. He wasn't just Number Four anymore. He was Florian. ] Anise named me!

It means 'king'. [aw yeah, picked it out for himself and everything. definitely not too flashy, that.

and at rabid child-thing's statement, he just kind of nods and smiles. even though he's a bundle of ADD and patience-devouring questions, he's still pretty okay in that... little child not yet tainted by burger king way.] Is that so? You must be very proud of that name, then.

I am! Mr. Jade said it's ancient 'is-pay-ni-en'. Though I don't know what that is.

Almost. It's only a matter of time until that title is mine. [ohoho gullible kids. however, he doesn't know what the hell 'is-pay-ni-en' is either and thusly just...nods a little bit.]
