I want everybody to go to this site- http://www.freerice.com/index.php and spend a little while taking the vocabulary test. For every definition you get right, FreeRice will donate ten grains of rice to starving kids in Africa. It gets kind of hard around level 40, but they won't take ( Read more... )

Cool! I got worn out at 270 grains. It should be 100 grains per correct answer! It's nice they're doing it though. Dang, I didn't get frippery.

I agree, rice is about three bucks a bag at the grocery store so a hundred grains hardly costs anything :D But I'm glad for the site, I hope it gets really popular.

My writing may be dodgy but my vocabulary is extensive, so it was very nice to use that knowledge for a good cause.

Wow! 10 grains of rice isn't much, but if everyone completes a lot of words it will really add up. Thanks for the link, Lisa!

Yippy! I'd almost forgotten about that.

Yeah, it does add up. A couple hundred doesn't sound like much but it's probably a bowl or so. That's a meal for somebody who wouldn't have one otherwise.

wow, this was fun. I earned 750 grains before I was completely stumped. I got to level 45, but started going down after that. I had no idea there were so many words I didn't know! Very humbling experience for me!
