I finally gave in and got a digital camera. For $240, this thing is amazing. So with out further ado...
I changed the room around a little more to make it more comfortable. When people come demanding their own bed, I simply pull out the bottom mattress, stick it on a bed frame and there you go...
Here is the room from another angle. I'm getting really good at cooking in microwave...
My bookshelf. A disproportionately large amount of my books are Japanese language stuff. The 'UNC Charlotte' binder was astronomically overpriced and I would have tried to find a dollar version someplace else if it had not been an emergency...
Some random academic building that looks nice. The library is that tall, gutted building behind it.
This be Halton Arena. Basketball games happen here, and it has a nifty clock tower that has three faces, only one of which ever shows the right time. This is one of the wrong ones, by the way...
Another fancy building that I have no idea about the function of. The tower, when hidden behind a tree line, reminds me of the Dome of the Rock for some reason.
One of the trails in the wooded area. There are a lot of walking routes, but they are all short. When you're used to 13 mile walks, nothing is long enough...
Another trail. This one leads back to the main roads. There are emergency call thingys all over the campus.
Here is a landscape shot of the campus, as seen from the hospital. My building is the farthest on the right.
And just in case you've all forgotten what my ugly mug looks like... Since then, I've gotten a bad sunburn/tan, so imagine that but a lot darker.
These were taken on a Saturday afternoon (except the last one), so that's why there are few if no people in them. I plan to get some more pictures at the International Festival at the end of the upcoming week, so stay tuned if you want to see people from around the world stuffing their faces.
Also, I had my first kendo practice. Although everything seems so counter-intuitive, I'm going to stay with it for now. Even if only for knowing how to better fight other kendo practitioners, I think I can learn some things there. Also, I'm getting started with organizing my stuff for study abroad. More on that later too.
Everybody take care and enjoy your week. またな。
