I think it's great to make new year resolutions.  It's a great way to test one's patience and discipline.

Of course, if you're just starting out, you might want to start small.

For instance, here are some good ones which you might want to try:

Ok, this is the 4th time I'm writing this because LJ has deleted my entry every time I posted this.  I AM going to write in to report this really soon.

In any case, this is the shamisen and is closely related to the Chinese San Xian (3 strings).

Percussions style is intentionally created by hitting string and drum like skin.

This entry is an ode to 5 persons whom I do not know.

5 persons who were in the prime of their lives.

5 persons who left this world suddenly, leaving behind their friends, loved ones, family.

I wonder what went through their minds in the final moments.  My heart ached when I read the way they passed away.

1.  Right wrist to be locked; not to be afraid of the strings
2.  Sweep hand downwards by 45 degrees
3.  Right elbow relax; not to jut out - I am not trying to take off
4.  Left hand fingers to familarise with the fingering structure of D major
