Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities: Basic overview. More specifically...
Mind Controlly Stuff -- Her clan's signature powers involve hijacking bodies of people or animals, primarily used for subterfuge and spying. Ino's personal favorite is the Mind/Body Switch Technique. Because taking over a person/animal's mind leaves her body unconscious, this isn't something used lightly or without someone trustworthy to make sure no one shanks her.
Because her BFF, Haruno Sakura, became a really awesome medic-nin, Ino wanted to as well. She's able to use her chakra to heal most non-fatal wounds (sorry, Asuma), and because of her background in botany due to her family's flower shop (thanks, mom and dad), she can create effective remedies using herbs and oils.
Weapons: Basic ninja fair -- various kunai, ninja stars, explosive tags, and small scrolls/ink to draw new scrolls as necessary that could be used either for support or attack. Also, boobs.
History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History: Notable things from her past! But also, she grew up an only child with the ability to boss around nearly anyone. As a little girl she was kind of the head of a little girl gang (on a very small scale), but like most things involving Ino (at least socially) it was a passing phase. She befriended Sakura after witnessing the poor little thing crying after excessive teasing over her huge (really, seriously big) forehead. After some kind/wise/bossy words, she gained a new follower in Sakura -- until they both discovered that they were in love with the same boy. Uchiha Sasuke's dreamboat eyes made the former besties into mortal enemies for a few years, and although they may still bicker a bit, Ino is as loyal as a pig (which for our purposes are very loyal). [I just realized this was on the wiki but I like my version better.]
Point in Canon: After hearing news that Uchiha Sasuke was considered a missing-nin, just prior to the beginning (or rather, Konoha's involvement) of the Shinobi World War, and during the Five Kage Summit.
Character Personality:
Much like her namesake, the boar, Ino is stubborn, headstrong, sometimes violent, but most importantly, unstoppable.
She can pick a faker out of a crowd in an instant, because she's definitely one herself. Sure, she's capable of being real to those close to her, or in moments of weakness. But overall, her concern with her looks and her reputation keep her constantly on her toes, which is actually pretty exhausting. Admittedly, if she was a total faker, she would have no personality to speak of, but she's absolutely brimming over with it. That, and attitude. She wouldn't call herself a "bitch" per se, but other people do, both to her face and behind her back. She's a girl who knows what she wants for the most part, and has no problems doing what she needs to do in order to get it. Spoiled and used to getting her way with those around her, she can get easily frustrated when someone repeatedly denies her, or she thinks she's being treated unfairly (even if it's for a good reason.) Intimidation is not unknown to the girl, and neither is mild seduction for that matter. She was called a bully when she was younger, and maybe sometimes even now, but she just doesn't hesitate to take advantage of people who seem easy to take advantage of. Manipulation is beyond instinct for her, and she does it without even thinking about it. Definitely a user to the core, she nonetheless can gauge when she's gone too far, and will do just enough to get in someone's good graces if they're getting tired of her bullshit.
If you can get past her prissy, prima donna attitude, and all her other flaws, she's definitely a friend through and through. It's difficult to get her to do something really stupid and dangerous for a loved one, because she has more self-preservation tendencies than anyone rightfully should. Still, when she becomes good friends with someone she doesn't even think twice about anything they do ever compromising their friendship... which means she doesn't really think about the repercussions of what she does affecting it, either. Although rash and headstrong and prideful, she is capable of looking at both sides of the situation once the smoke clears. Loud and somewhat obnoxious at times, she can come off as abrasive and unlikeable if she's not watching her manners, especially when being extremely persistent (which she is very prone to being.)
Boy crazy by nature, Ino applies her amazing observations skills to remember every detail of guys that she thinks are cute. Guys she deems cool are especially sought-after, which is nearly always a bad boy, but can also be a straight-laced guy who happens to do really cool things. In fact, being cool is more important than all else when it comes to her taste in boys. Although this doesn't apply only to guys, she tends to like guys (or things) only after she learns that someone else wants them. Ino considers herself somewhat independent, and to some extent for her age and situation she is, but mostly she's definitely not -- which is okay, that's why they have teams, but she considers herself a fairly modern woman. She is, however, prone to infatuation and flights of fancy. Contrary and fickle in matters of the heart and just life in general, she can be a serious handful one minute and out of someone's hair the next.
When it comes down to it, she's capable of doing the right thing every time, but it really helps if she's getting something out of the situation, too. When she feels the need to baby someone or to take care of them, she's simultaneously fulfilling her need to be liked and to receive their gratitude even if she doesn't realize it. Most of her daily decisions, however, are made with Ino in mind, and everyone else falling far behind. For bigger, more important/dramatic situations however, she can be quite selfless.
Convinced that she's prettier than 99% of other girls, and very judgmental of them to boot, she hardly hides the fact that she's vain. And shallow. Part of it is self-confidence but most of it is her ego, which is just as easily bruised as it is fed. Considering how much she puts herself out there, both of them happen often. Snotty at times and openly holier-than-thou (especially to those she likes), she would have no problem blowing someone off to their face if she just simply didn't want to deal with them, even if she started whatever it was they were doing. She's a sore loser and has exceedingly poor sportsmanship, and gloats when she wins. In fact she gloats just for no reason at times. Extremely expressive and reactive, she tends to gravitate toward people who will allow her to boss them around or who will simply do her bidding. Weak-willed boys are her absolute favorite.
Luckily for her, she's capable of being really cute even when she's not trying. When she shuts up she's much more tolerable, obviously. She's cheeky, flirty, selfish, persistent, stubborn, childish, pushy... but she's loyal almost to a fault. If someone wrongs her or her friends, they should expect serious retribution from the blonde. Outwardly to most people she attempts to appear a cool, charming, charismatic and regal. She succeeds sometimes.
Character Plans: Ino would love to help out at a clinic, especially if Sakura was present. She will almost definitely want to take a big interest in whatever Shikamaru has involved himself in, or at the very least, become active in whatever side that he thinks is best. Also, cute boys.

Mm, it'll be a little depressing with one fewer, so... well, this year I'll definitely make sure I have more to give! But uh--! Not like, not like 'more to love,' that's not... argh. Boys, please don't hesitate to try to get in my good graces before then. ♥
Third Person Sample
The morning siren seemed to come but minutes after Ino shut her eyes. Sprawled out on her twin-sized bed, twisted up in the thin sheets, she scrunched her face up as if it could somehow drown out the horrid sound. Even rolling over and pulling her pillow over the back of her head did nothing to send her back to the land of nod, and so she ended up simply chucking the thing at the small, barred window in her sparse, empty room. "Nnhghnhnzhnbvbv."
Now without a pillow, she shifted grumpily onto her side, tucking bare legs up as if contemplating going back to sleep (or trying to). Blue eyes were open though, staring at her clothes from the night before folded over the back of a chair. Well, she was looking at them, but not really seeing them in any case. With that terrible siren, she was never even allowed the luxury of forgetting that she wasn't in Konoha even for a few seconds every morning. It really, really, really sucked.
Ino laid there like that for about ten more minutes, until she grudgingly pushed herself up to sit with her knees bent and dropped her hands in the mattress between them. One deep breath, two seconds of pure silence as she held it, and then she exhaled with a 'hnn' sound as her hands reached up and pulled the tie from her (messy) ponytail. Her morning routine involved weighing herself, cleaning up, prettifying, then heading out for the day. Today was no different, except she squinted with open disdain down at the numbers on her scale.

Ponytail back up, and tightened. Ass on the floor. Situp time.
